I had a pleasant shopping experience at Frew's Bridal in Alton. I was looking for a mother of the bride dress. Not only did the store have a large selection of dresses to try, my consultant, Felicia, was superior in making this process easy and manageable for me. Although I didn't look for a wedding or bridesmaid dress, there appeared to be a large selection of those as well. If you are the bridal market, I highly recommend this store.

I have had nothing but a GREAT experience with this company! I met the owner at the STL Bridal show in January of 2015! Right off the bat I was impressed! Being a first time bride, (and only time), I wanted a bridal experience like I see on TV. I didn't want a quick in, quick out, get you through the door place like David's Bridal. I didn't want something so upscale that I couldn't afford anything in the store, Frew's was just perfect for everything I was looking for. We made our first appointment for a Tux try on for my groom, this is a great part of there structure also b/c the GROOM area downstairs is a complete man cave. The gal was GREAT! She really knew her stuff! On our way to the bathroom, b/c mind you, we drove 1.5 hours away for this.... Keith saw this dress and was like, that's it...you need to try that on. I asked and they made it happen. Normally you have to be fitted, make an appointment, but b/c of the circumstance and having met the owner at the Bridal Show, I feel they made room just for me. Making a bride feel special when it's not even her turn....WINNING! We are going to do all of our wedding attire here! And the best part...The DRESS WAS A SOPHIA TOLLI AND IS THE ONE! THANK YOU FREWS.... YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!

Frew's was so amazing! I know multiple people who went shopping in other places and eventually found the one at Frew's. When I went for my own, my consultant was so patient and willing to go above and beyond. I went way past my appointment and no one complained once. She even let me come back and try it on again after lunch because I wanted an applique removed--which was done at no cost. The store is so pretty and I love that it's a unique place. They don't have everything in store that they have online, but there are so many options in store! Also, I've gotten a wedding dress and a bridesmaid dress at Frew's and both times they gave me the online price (which was about 50% off) in store!

I really liked this place!! i got my prom and homecoming dress from this store! the ladies that work there are so sweet and nice!! when i bought my homecoming dress from there, i spend over $300 on it and because of that i got a $50 store credit. i was able to get a REALLY cute hair piece to go with my dress with the store credit. i recommend this place who is looking for a prom/homecoming dress! :)

I was so excited to go to Frews and drove 2.5 hours after reading reviews and having one personal referral. I was ready for the best but I had a horrible experience at Frew's! The attendant helping me complained the whole time about the bride before me and how she tried on too many dresses. She also complained about how tired she was the entire time. I understand that she has a hard job, but she put me in a debbie downer mood from the beginning of the appointment. She told me to pull dresses that I liked and then chastised me for pulling more than the maximum (which she didn't mention.) I had found several styles on the website that I liked but they don't carry those in store so she didn't even look at what I had picked out. When trying on dresses I had to have my MOH come in and help me put the dresses on because the attendant would take them off the hanger and just hand them too me (while she complained). She paid no mind to my budget, I would ask how much a dress cost and she would say, "Oh I didn't even look." Or say, "Well it's only a couple hundred over." I had a tight but reasonable budget of $1,000 and she kept putting me in $1,500 dresses. I wasn't finding anything that I loved and she told me that I didn't have to "love" my dress I just needed to find something I liked. She was short with me and acted like I was being completely unreasonable, but I'm a super chill person. I should have asked for a manager in the middle of my appointment but I didn't. From reading all of the other reviews it sounds like I got a rare bad apple at this place, but it was enough for it to ruin my entire experience. I would never recommend them. I don't write bad reviews, but after the urging of my mom and the two bridesmaids who were with me, I decided to tell about my experience so maybe Frews can look into it or ward off a bad experience another bide may have.

The service at this location was horrible. We made an appointment online and listed several styles I wanted to see. When I arrived, I met my consultant and told her the styles of dresses I wanted to see- she then told me to go pull dresses from the rack without and direction as to where to look. Once I pulled some dresses, she was no where to be seen and another consultant had to help me get a fitting room. Once in the room with the dresses and my consultant- she did not assist me in putting on or taking off the dresses, all she did was take them off the hanger and hand them to me. The consultant would come in and out of the room while I was dressing or undressing and leave the door wide open while I was standing in my underwear. Once I found The Dress we went up front to place an order. The consultant then asked me what size dress I wanted- she did not measure me or consult the company's sizing chart. After asking me to sign a contract stating it was not refundable or exchangeable- I insisted she measure me to the sizing chart for this particular designer, which is a good thing since the size she suggested would have been too small. She also did not show me or tell me what type of slip would be needed for this dress, which will be another battle to face once my dress arrives. all in all it was a horrible experience, and if I was sure I could have found this dress at a different company I would have taken my business elsewhere.

We just purchased our daughter's wedding gown here and it was a fabulous experience! We live in St. Louis and traveled to this salon in Alton because they were the only place that had THE gown my daughter wanted to try on. Our consultant was so knowledgeable and took great care to make sure my daughter's gown was perfect. We wanted some custom work done to it and she was meticulous about writing down all the details. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the store is AMAZING! It's huge and well-decorated with a phenomenal selection of wedding gowns, prom dresses, mother of the bride dresses, tuxedos...you name it, they've got you covered! The building is a reclaimed, reused space and it's very cool to see a piece of history looking so vital and beautiful.
