Best sushi I've ever had in New York. finally! Blacken cod and blacken tuna were to die for. Everything else was delicious too. At 11pm still packed.

Great, great service despite the place being packed. Didn't have to wait at 7pm on a weeknight with a group of 5, but counted ourselves lucky. Excellent sushi/sashimi combinations, miso soup, karage chicken, edamane and sake list. Not much room to move your elbows, but as long as it's not a romantic date night, I don't mind that.

The sushi was pretty good, but when we were about to leave the waitress came to our table and said that a ''20% tip is 'weird' for a table of 5" and that we should give at least 30%. We gave her a few more bucks and left.

Great value for the high quality sushi that you will find here at Takahachi. My wife and i have been coming weekly for over 15 years. We prefer the East Village location because of the healthy buzz of patrons. Sushi for Two is a great value! You won't be disappointed.

Definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in the east village. Every dish i have had here has been a treat and they always look as if they have been made with the utmost care. Sitting at the bar watching the chefs at work you can see why.

My go to fav sushi place that's good every time. All the time. Has to be one of the best quality to price ratio spots. Sashimi deluxe with brown rice. Never fails. If ure early (aka lucky) enough, get the yellowtail collar. The bacon scallops will make u mmm. Also try the yuzu ice cream...just do it.
