Very happy to announce a new design pattern for the Android Design Guide: The Navigation Drawer.

Navigation drawers have been a community-driven pattern for a while. We have now formalized its use on the Android platform with a new chapter in the official Android Design Guide. If you're interested in using this pattern in your app, or want to update your existing drawer to match best practices and recommendations, head on over and take a look.

https://developers.google.com/events/io/ is a place to watch four different live streams of sessions from Google I/O right now!

I'm in the Google Wallet session where they just launched Instant Buy, a great way to make buying easier in Android apps.

Google also just added the ability to send money in Gmail: http://www.google.com/wallet/send-money/

I'm also really excited about the "autocomplete" session coming up later today. I'd recommend every webmaster to read more about requestAutocomplete(): http://www.chromium.org/developers/using-requestautocomplete Filling out forms to buy stuff is a pain, and autocomplete lets users sail through those forms and make it really easy to buy things on your site.

Oh, and Google's new All Access music pass looks quite cool. For $9.99/month you can play millions of songs and listen to music radio with unlimited skips. There's a 30 day free trial, and if you start the trial before June 30, 2013 then the price drops to $7.99/month. I've been testing All Access and I've been really impressed with the music service.

Added: I've been using the new Google+ for a while too. It's a bit of a change from before, but I really like it. I've found myself reading Google+ a lot more in the new experience.
