A friend comes over. Special friend. You want to make a dessert. There is nothing in your food  cupboard to make a dessert with. Well, that is what you think. Not until you know you have part of a loaf of bread, a few eggs, handful of raisins, sugar and milk and you can make a delicious pudding out of these basic ingredients. Yes. It is that easy. This is the easiest pudding you can put otgehter with no preparations what so ever. And still your friend would ask for second servings and she will scoop clean the plate. :)

Traditionally gram flour is used as the base. Over the years I have used several combinations and improvised a lot on the proportions and contents to achieve that taste which my palate acquired at age 4-5.  Adding rice flour was a landmark and it gave the vadas a gorgeous crisp which stayed longer. Coming to UK introduced me to a gooey mess the supermarkets call onion bhaji. They are (in my opinion) a shame to the cuisine.

A quick breakfast with left over bread with some veggies and some egg. Yes, that is it. I made this as a healthier option while making french toast for my 6 year old. To my surprise, he liked so much he didn't want any french toast. I was very pleased it worked. So guys, try it and see how your little ones like this masala toast.

Pizza is a favourite especially when catering to kids in a party. My son luvs it and so does his friends. I prefer making my own pizza base as it is way better than the ready-made ones. I have altered my technique over the years and the one described below is by far the best. I luv pizza hut and some of my alterations have been for my base to look and taste like theirs. Make them yourself and let me know. :-)

Quick and easy rice dishes work well when you are packing lunch for kids. Serve with a protein based curry like chick pea curry and yogurt and the lunch are sorted. Tomato rice can be made in two ways. Rice can be cooked with tomatos and spices or you can make the tomato base and mix in cooked rice.
