New book: How to really make use of #homelessness law to get a person #housed. This book is designed to help you or a client get housed as quickly and directly as possible. For those in housing need and advisers working in the fields of housing and homelessness.

Written in an easy to understand and accessible style, you begin with an easy overview of how homelessness works, what it requires a local council to look at and what duties they have. You are then guided through each of the tests a local council applies and how to pass each one.  You are shown all of the little used duties, powers, loopholes and tests which can be used to gain #housing; one of the most valuable resources in the UK today.

You are shown how to make your application for housing as successful as possible, by looking at each of the tests a local council applies and what it takes to show that you or your client fit within them. Finally you are shown how to challenge at review level any negative decisions to get them overturned.

Some images from the Walk of Artemis, (Goddess of the Forest), around the summit of Mount Olympus in Cyprus. On this day the mountain was thick with mist, which swept in and out according to its whim, sometimes reducing visibility to a couple of metres in a few seconds, then retreating to reveal entire forest scenes against a backdrop of pearlescent cloud.

We stuck to the the single path through a mysterious ghible-esque alive forest, staring at the strangely truncated pine trees, wondering what lay just out of sight and tip-toeing past the knarled and twisted old mountain pines lest they grab our ankes as we crept by and keep us for their own.

After several hours of wandering, we succeeded in circumnambulating the mountain. We hadn't seen a single other human being, had barely heard a sound and were soaked in cloud.

It is one of the most atmospheric walks I have every done.

The Power Of The Witch. A documentary about witchcraft as it was practised in the late 60s and early 70s in the UK - apparently it was only screened once and there is practically no information about it on the web.

The Power Of The Witch is worth a watch even if you are not particularly interested in the occult - rather watch it as a document of its time, capturing as it does people’s attitudes, beliefs, fashions and plummy Brit accents.

Thanks to Dangerous Minds for the discovery.
