Some thinking about the New York State bill providing tax incentives to open source developers.
The New York State Assembly is considering a bill to provide open source developers a tax credit. It's problematic, but the idea is sound.

Dave and Gunnar #44 is up. +David Egts and I talk about touch interfaces in cars, +Jim Whitehurst 's productivity tricks, and then I get all angry about DRM.

For some reason, RHEL7 highlights just sound better with a Boston accent. Thanks, +Daniel Walsh !

I remember that! And from my dark days in Redmond back in the late 80s, DOS had a Valley Girl locale as well.

If you want the government to use your software, you probably have some homework to do. I made a checklist.

PaaS is a genuinely big deal, and a recent Meritalk survey proved it.

We had our wedding here on October 27th, 2012, and when we heard that the venue was closing, it broke our heart. Her staff was helpful, friendly, and professional. The venue itself is beautiful. Georgia, though, is what we'll remember most. She was flexible when she could be, a stern taskmaster when she had to be, and we can't imagine having done the wedding without her.
