Here is an illustration of how maps distort our view of the world. Different projections of human head.

Our home from space, very big yet very tiny in the grand scheme of things.

Interesting view on academia by a student who decided, just before completion of his thesis, to not complete his PhD at least partly out of principle and frustration.

"Consider again that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us.

On it

everyone you love,
everyone you know,
everyone you ever heard of,

every human being who ever was,

lived out their lives...

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience.

There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known."

Religion is being consigned to the rubbish bin of history in many of Europe's countries. The latest figures for the UK  show that only 25% of UK's 18-24 year olds say they believe in god, 18% don't know. Ultimately, the youth are rejecting religion and embracing science. Let's keep up the pressure and hope that ultimately reason will prevail.
