Today my sister Debby and I had lunch at Buona Sera in Red Bank for lunch - and it SUCKED. We should have left once we opened the door and were greeted by 4 middle-aged men sitting at a bar, gawking and squalling at us like vultures. Thought it was happy hour at 1 p.m. in the afternoon. Since we both had a hankering for Italian food, we took a table closest from the bar. Debby ordered Gnocchi and meatballs with red sauce and I ordered Pasta Bolognese - two simple dishes that totally SUCKED. I think they took ready made sausage and chopped it up and through it in a sauce and called it Bolognese. HORRIBLE and I can say this - since my Mother-in law is an awesome Italian cook. Debby's Gnocchi looked like little white worms with a lot of Ketchup splashed over them. Pasta: Al NOT Adente or anything between. What makes matters worse, my sister is sick as a dog with a swollen stomach right now. The service: There was none. Just a man with a frowning mustache served our table. (If you call it service.) He took our order and hung at the bar with his E lightning bug pals. YUCK... The lesson for today - Don't eat the food at Buona Sera. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
