Congratulations to Natasha Hambrook '14, a dedicated scholar and volunteer who earned the 2014-15 President's Award, which will provide her with two years of full tuition at WSU Vancouver . Like 73 percent of our student body, she is also a first-generation college graduate. Read her story at the link below. Way to go, Natasha!

The college is closed this Monday in observance of Memorial Day, but yesterday we honored the holiday by holding the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for our #Veterans Resource Center (GHL 216). Please enjoy the holiday, and for all our #studentveterans, on behalf of the college, thank you for your service.

"I said, 'I'm nobody, can I still be here?' They just laughed and said, "You're somebody! Come on in!'" Glimpse scenes from our 2014 Career Days, which served more than 1,000 job-seekers from around the region--whether they're Clark students or not. One lesson we learned from the program this year: It's a good time to be a machinist (or to enroll in our Machining Program, if you're looking for a new line of work with some job security).

It's always great to see what our professors come back with from their sabbaticals--new tools, new teaching techniques, new knowledge to share with our students. And, in Spanish professor Betsy Ubiergo's case, puppets!

As reported in the Vancouver Business Journal, there are new possibilities brewing at Clark. While still in the exploratory phase, we're excited about a Restaurant and Fermentation Sciences program and how it could serve our region.

"The first time I sat down with a social worker after going into [foster] care, he told me, 'There is a 3 percent chance you will ever go to college. There is a 1 percent chance you will ever graduate with your AA, and the chances of your going beyond that are so slim that there aren't really even statistics about it.'" Hear Clark student Tara Erickson's moving testimony to our Board of Trustees about how Clark has helped her overcome the challenges she has faced--more evidence of how Clark changes lives every day. We're so proud of you, Tara!

It's official: The location of Clark's new campus in the northern section of our service district has been announced. Clark College at Boschma Farms will be located in Ridgefield just northeast of exit 14. The opening of the North County campus is still years away (probably in the 2020s), but we're so excited to be able to take this step toward expanding our services and relieving some of the pressure on the main campus--and so grateful to the Boschma family for the generous donation that made this possible.

This event will feature work from more than two-dozen students from Clark's Time-Based Art and Web Video Production classes, as well as work from students from other area colleges and universities. This one-night event is FREE and open to all, so please share with your friends. Hope to see you there!

Great story in The Columbian on Clark's newly redesigned Toyota T-TEN program, which gets students working in dealerships right away. Clark is the only school in the Pacific Northwest to receive T-TEN accreditation under Toyota's new, more-stringent standards. Just one more example of how our faculty are continually working to make sure our students get the best education possible.
His head bent over a computer screen, Shaan Grissom worked at solving a problem: Why was the Toyota's TPMS light on? The tire pressure monitoring system light can be triggered for any number of is
