Some folks have noticed that our grass has been looking a little parched lately. But our "golden" lawn is just another way Clark College is honoring its commitment to #sustainability . Because sometimes, the best way to be green is to go brown. #washingtonstate #drought #environment
This summer, visitors to the main campus may have noticed a change in its normally lush landscape. The grass, which usually blankets the campus in emerald green, has been looking a little, well, thirsty of late. Dry. Brown. Dead, possibly? Far from it, assures Clark College Director of ...

We love reading about our students' extracurricular activities, like #studentveteran David Hubbard's entry into a national #ratrod competition. We wish him luck and look forward to seeing both him and his wife Jessica (also a veteran) back here when Fall Quarter begins Sept. 22! #studentveterans #college   #gibill
David Hubbard's challenge: Build a rat rod for $3,000 or less in the span of 30 days, then drive it 300 miles from St. Louis to the "Redneck Rumble" near Nashville, Tenn.

Exciting news! Clark will be moving from its current location in the Wind River Education Center to a larger facility in Bingen, Wash., so that it can provide more educational opportunities to the residents of the Columbia River Gorge--including classes in the high-demand field of CADD (computer automated drafting and design), especially needed in the aeronautics industry.

As reported in the Vancouver Business Journal, there are new possibilities brewing at Clark. While still in the exploratory phase, we're excited about a Restaurant and Fermentation Sciences program and how it could serve our region.
Current proposal includes $15 million acquisition and renovation of two Academy buildings

"The first time I sat down with a social worker after going into [foster] care, he told me, 'There is a 3 percent chance you will ever go to college. There is a 1 percent chance you will ever graduate with your AA, and the chances of your going beyond that are so slim that there aren't really even statistics about it.'" Hear Clark student Tara Erickson's moving testimony to our Board of Trustees about how Clark has helped her overcome the challenges she has faced--more evidence of how Clark changes lives every day. We're so proud of you, Tara!

Congratulations to Natasha Hambrook '14, a dedicated scholar and volunteer who earned the 2014-15 President's Award, which will provide her with two years of full tuition at WSU Vancouver . Like 73 percent of our student body, she is also a first-generation college graduate. Read her story at the link below. Way to go, Natasha!
Early in Natasha Hambrook's high school career, things weren't looking so great. She felt frustrated by the lack of academic challenge in her classes; at the same time, she was having trouble accessing help in subjects where she was having difficulty, like math. She could have become discouraged ...
