The Environmental Working Group, EWG, recently released their 2017 “Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen” lists of produce with the highest and lowest amounts of pesticides. For the second year in a row, the conventionally grown produce with the most pesticide residues are strawberries followed by spinach and nectarines. The pesticide residues remained on fruits and vegetables even after they were washed and, in some cases, peeled. Read more at http://buff.ly/2n7ve9N.

According to a recent study, 45% of all deaths from stroke, diabetes, and heart disease in 2012 were associated with a diet that had excessive amounts of sodium and low intake of vegetables, nuts and seeds, omega-3 fatty acids, and whole grains. The three most common types of pet allergens are food, flea bites, and environmental factors, such as dust mites, pollen, and mold spores. Although the use of indoor tanning has decreased over the past few years, there are still more than 1 million teens putting themselves at risk for skin cancer, according to a recent study.
