Just like people, animals can be sensitive to inactive ingredients like xylitol that are commonly used in manufactured drugs. Our compounding pharmacy can prepare medications without xylitol, alcohol, or other problem-causing ingredients. Because we can customize medications, your veterinarian can prescribe a medicated treat, transdermal gel, or flavored liquid concentrate to make it easy to take care of your furry or feathered friends.

According to a recent study, obesity can lead to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in kids as young as 8 years. The long-term study of 635 children in Massachusetts found that a bigger waist size at age 3 increases the odds that a child will have a marker for liver damage and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease by age 8. While nonalcoholic fatty liver disease typically does not cause symptoms, it can lead to scarring (cirrhosis) of the liver and cancer.
