For a place that advertises itself as gluten free friendly they really have some major gaps. My family is coeliac and we struggled to find anything here beyond the standard 'leaf salad'. The problem seems to be a misunderstanding that putting meats and toppings on gluten free bread doesn't make the meal gluten free. After 10 minutes of trying to clarify why the menu classifies their turkey sandwich as gluten free when the packaging of the turkey (Oscar meyer BTW) clearly states it contains gluten. Be very aware that this appears to be a place that is trying to ride the gf trend without training their staff on what it means. I'd hate to think of how many people trust their menu and experience repercussions later and blame somewhere else. Ironically, after stepping through the ingredients to build a sandwich that had gf dressing, gf meat and some veggies both sandwiches appeared on standard bread. Would have loved to have had a better experience but gluten causes my family days of urgent bathroom breaks and sickness and truely ruins the holiday. So we seek of places where they can just eat and not worry about it and spend more time on the beautiful beaches and experiences Hawaii has to offer. Unfortunately this little place is probably better suited for those without serious allergies.

A great take away sandwich style shop. Smoothies were the best menu item but the vegan burritos were pretty good too. A nice option to have amid the greasy, heavy happy hour options and awful fast food in Waikiki. I felt so much better having a smoothie before putting on my bikini for a day at the beach! Thanks Ruffage.

Some of the best food I have ever eaten, especially the chilli - nothing fancy, just an all around awesomely good quality meal, fresh and tasty. Went here twice in one day. Would call it more of a takeaway/cafe than a restaurant, I would get food to go and take it the short walk to the beach to eat.

Had the spicy tuna and avocado bowl, some of the best spicy tuna I've ever had. Will be returning.

Nice food! Outside seating area could be improved, ie move the trash away from the tables.

While this tiny shop/cafe stocks some wonderful organic products, their acai bowl left me feeling ripped off. At just over US$10 for their 'large' bowl, I was expecting more than just frozen acai, banana and withered blue berries. I'll be a repeat customer at Island Vintage which is a short 4min walk away.

Tofu scrambler with avacado, sausage & salad sides was deliciously delightful. Sll washed down with coconut water & topped off with fresh cut Hawai'ian pinapple for desert. Uuummm. LiFe iS GooD! Each time I'm in Waikiki I must make a pilgrimage to Ruffages. Always lovely food & service.
