A beautiful animal.

Golden tiger --a golden tabby tiger is one with an extremely rare color variation caused by a recessive gene and is currently only found in captive tigers. Like the white tiger, it is a color form and not a separate species. In the case of the golden tiger, this is the wide band gene; while the white tiger is due to the color inhibitor (chinchilla) gene.

If you haven't seen this episode of Zach Galiafanakis' internet "talk show" Between Two Ferns, it is pretty funny. President Obama holds his own. I don't know how much of it is scripted, but I enjoyed it.

Interesting article about an independent journalist covering the aftermath of the meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi power plant. She is more objective than the mainstream Japanese media.

More than 130,000 people remain evacuated from their homes because of radioactive contamination since the meltdown at #Fukushima that was triggered by a devastating earthquake and tsunami March 11, 2011. http://ow.ly/umRUH

Wish I looked that fearsome underwater.

Unlike most members of the cat family, tigers seem to enjoy water. They swim well and often soak in streams or pools of water to cool off. The scientific name for the tiger is Panthera tigris.
