Boxcar Social has several locations around Toronto, and this Queens Quay cafe is only the second I've seen, but I cannot imagine that any of the others are prettier.

Besides the spectacular waterfront view, the space itself is rather posh and upscale, large and amply lit. When I arrived, this location was offering coffee from 49th Parallel, Transcend, and Anchored. The latter was on drip, and it was an easy decision because I'd already had three previous solid experiences with that Halifax roaster.

The coffee did not disappoint, and my wisit was totally worth the hassle of driving down to this challenging part of Toronto, where the traffic is awful and parking difficult to find. My only complaints were that I could not stay longer (because parking is so expensive), and that the baristas on this particular day did not seem as friendly as the young womon who attended me at their Yonge Street location back in December.
