What Retrospect Coffee Bar lacks in terms of brew bar options (none), it makes up for by sitting inside this historic old gas station from about a century ago...

The building is beautiful, perhaps the prettiest of Houston's craft coffeehouses, and even though all of the seating is outside, they have still managed to set up some electrical outlets and wifi.

They serve Katz's for the daily black (not a fan), but they also have Boomtown and Amaya as options for espresso. Not a fan of Amaya or espresso, but I have to say that the Americano that I ordered was actually pretty good!

A larger parking lot than I would expect for this part of Houston is likely to make Retrospect a regular hangout for me, when in my home city.
