Milk & Pull is one of the many bare-bones indie cafes in New York City, cafes that keep their operations as simple as possible by offering only batch-brewed drip coffee (and espresso drinks), and often only one roast.

In this case, it's Stumptown's Hair Bender blend, which never enthused me even back in 2011, and now is merely tolerable. I'll always choose Hair Bender ahead of Starbucks, but since Stumptown was acquired by Peet's, I'm not sure how long it will be worth going out of my way for.

Anyway, the cafe itself is small, with a clean and efficient look, and I'm sure that the locals enjoy having a nearby option for coffee that is, thus far, unquestionably better than the ubiquitous Starbucks.
