I was surprised to learn that Cenote has been around for some five years, because their name never came up when I asked around about indie cafes to wisit.

If the cafe offered only mediocre coffee, I could understand a lack of buzz, but this place actually serves a selection of indie roasts, including relative newcomer Merit out of San Antonio, and I enjoyed a darn good Fetco-brewed cup of the Colombia Monjes roast.

They also offer a Clever as a brewing option, but it's kind of pricey, for Austin, at $5.

The cafe's decor is wonderful, offering a homey interior and a garden-like patio.

I'll be back.
