Although I've been hunting independent coffees for six years now, and I've passed through Jacksonville numerous times six then, up until this weekend, the only cafes I've explored in that time are two Bold Bean locations and another, mediocre, ice cream spot that has since closed.

I finally found a new place, though, Vagabond Coffee, and I'll have to keep it on my radar. The cafe is in a really cool part of town, a few blocks from where Bold Bean used to have a small location, and the decor is quite interesting, including a collection of sports teams flags, and a back patio with a mural on the wall.

They do a single-cup Chemex here, which is always a plus, and the natural Brazilian coffee I had was pretty good, if not quite as light and flavourful as I prefer.

The owner is super nice and eager to talk about the coffee, and I look forwarding to returning soon.
