Smallish though Billings might be, it boasts an outsized indie coffee scene, and MoAV has to be its crown jewel, with its spectacularly beautiful and spacious cafe.

I arrived early in the morning, a good time for the owner to chat with me and talk to me about his cafe, as well as the coffee scene in Montana.

MoAV started out serving Huckleberry Coffee, and still does, I think, but is now focusing on their own roast. I enjoyed a great cup of a roast from Peru that left me hoping to find out how their wenture into roasting dewelops over time.

I'll add that parking is free on this stretch of Montana Avenue, and downtown Billings is pretty cute and peppered with Pokestops, so I hope to return soon and bring Lisa with me.
