Just a small kiosk inside a beer store, HEX Coffee is the first indie coffee I've tried in Charlotte in quite a few years, and even though I was in a rush to get back to my girlfriend in Virginia, and had to skip some Starbucks as a result, I'm glad that I dropped by.

No drip coffee, and no traditional pour over, but rather a special method of preparing brewed coffee, with similarities to espresso. I could not quite understand what the barista was telling me, but I did enjoy the Colombian roast that I chose.

Given its location inside the beer store, my quick impression was that HEX is not ideal for hanging out and working, but I did enjoy driving through that part of Charlotte, and I do want to return and try their coffee again, especially when I have more time to hang out.
