The one photo we captured of our Angels in the Night pub night at McCabe's Irish Pub Kitchener in support of the shelters in the KW region including Ray of Hope Inc., Roof, and YWCA K-W. We raised more than $12,000 in one night, and at the end of the month, I will be helping to hand out the warm clothing that this money will buy for the shelters so close to us.

In content heavy communities, community managers often mind themselves involved in blogger outreach. How can we optimize the blogger outreach experience to maximize the quality and benefits of guest bloggers without detracting from building relationships within our community?

If you're looking to discuss your own experience with blogger outreach or learn some tips and tricks for how to improve, be sure to join us for #CMGRHangout on Friday, January 31st at 2pm EST!

+Jonathan Brewer and +Sherrie Rohde will be hosting the Hangout with +Dino Dogan, +Katie Felten, +Gettysburg Gerry, +Kimbe MacMaster, +Rosemary O'Neill and +DJ Thistle as panelists. +Carrie Keenan and +Sarah Mordis will be moderating the Twitter chat using #CMGRHangout.

Discussion Questions

1. Where do you start when researching prospective bloggers?
2. What are some ways to engage and build relationships with bloggers?
3. What's the best way to pitch a blogger your story?
4. What sorts of tools are available for blogger outreach and how are they used?
5. How can you keep track of all your blogger relationships?
6. How important are offline events when doing blogger outreach?
7. How does SEO come into play with a blogger outreach program?

RSVP & Watch the Hangout

RSVP here to let us know you’re going to watch. This will add the event to your calendar and remind you to attend! If you want to be on air, please let us know in advance by commenting here.

Let’s discuss ways you can attend:

Watch: You do NOT need to join the hangout. Just stay on the Google+ Event and you’ll see the video on YouTube. (Don’t worry, it will be there and start playing as soon as the broadcast begins.)

Talk and Be Seen: If you decide you want to talk, not just watch, click to join the hangout when we post the link here or when you see the notification. (We will only invite a few people for this event, so let us know why you would like to attend.) Do NOT click the link to join the hangout if you are just here to watch.

Chat: You can watch here and/or follow the conversation on Twitter using #cmgrhangout.

Any questions? Just let us know in advance. Please don’t wait until 2pm EST to ask questions.

If you join us on the hangout, a wired internet connection is preferred and if you have a headset with mic or earbuds, that works best for the audio. You will also need a working webcam.
