We are very fortunate.  We have worked with some really great people and organizations.  We are extremely grateful for their support!

Recently, Kim Mueser, PhD from Boston University said: "Lindy is my go-to person for consultation and training around co-occuring disorders information and implementation.  The NY videos she has done with Sharon & Bob are the standard by which all other mental health and substance use training videos should be judged."

See who else we have worked with and what they say here: http://caringproductions.com/caring_wholikesus.html

There are two keys to creating effective role plays for training support ... believability and familiarity.

To enhance learning, practitioners need to feel that the role play is "real". Not only do the clinicians and clients in the role play have to resonate for the viewer, but the dialogue and situations must as well. Wooden portrayals and too-easy solutions detract from the learning. If you don't believe it, how can you accept and adopt it?

Familiarity goes beyond subject matter. It also has to do with the quality of the video … it's a logical extension of most of us growing up with motion picture films and broadcast television. That familiarity quickly tells the viewer who took the time to properly plan, write, light, shoot and edit a good, effective story … and who didn't. You may not know it, you just feel it … and that truly matters.

Here's an example (http://ow.ly/n8z2K) from the RAISE study we did with David Penn and Piper Meyer at UNC-CH. This Relapse Prevention module contains a role play.

Do you believe it? Does it feel like like it was carefully crafted?

Found this while working at DePaul City Center in Rochester. It's a tile in a wall montage. Pretty much says it all.

We helped to design & create the Focus on Integrated Treatment (FIT) modules for NY State (http://ow.ly/mLHpI). As part of the on-line curriculum, we created several "Wrong Way/Right Way" Clinical Demonstrations. Here's a good one: http://ow.ly/mLJmY

Know anyone still doing it the wrong way?

Here's a recent anti-smoking "commercial" from an 8-part series we did for the Feinstein Institute at NS/LIJ. It is targeted at young adults with co-occurring disorders, that is, both a mental health AND substance use diagnosis. In this case, first episode schizophrenia and cigarettes.
