One Unhappy +Verizon
I had an interestingly frustrating day today while trying to follow the direction in the +Verizon
text that I was sent today regarding the Samsung Note 7 phone recall effort. While I can not simply shut off my phone, I bee lined it to my local Verizon store today seeking an replacement Note 7 phone.
To my surprise and dismay the rear door of the Verizon store that is closest to the parking lot was locked with a sign saying use the front door. While this is not typically a big issue, it was 87 degrees out and both a humid and sunny afternoon. So that was a very long and dangerous walk thought the parking lot driveway around the strip mall to get to front entrance. Once finally there I was surprised to see a Rope off area with sign saying the (empty) line starts here and a Verzion store representative outside, standing in the sun, who greeted me as I arrived, and even more suprised as she began to ask me why I was there. While now standing in the hot sun, also had to listen about the fact that the store was limiting access to customers due to the frickin iphone 7 launch! "WHAT?!?," I exclaimed "I'm not here for any feaking iphone!. I came to exhange my Note 7 as instructed." Well then the Verizon rep said that I will have to wait in the line as they are only allowing one customer to go into the store at a time for inventory control reasons due to the iphone launch! I was hot and getting hotter by the second as I contimplated waiting in this sun for some stupid person to either buy or to not buy a iphone 7 , before I would be allowed into an air conditioned building to exchange my already purchased phone. While I stood there with a shocked look on my face, the rep also asked me if I had my note7 box with me as I had the phone in my hand. I exclaimed no and asked her why would I need my box to exhange a phone. She replied that without the box and the accessories that came in it, that they would have to charge me $75 to replace my phone! Another "WHAT!?" escaped my mouth to her, she proceeded to explain as she saw my frustration rapidly building while still standing in the heat outside. Apparently, that store had not yet received the replacement phones from Samsung so to replace my phone right now, the would have to sell me a new phone (with the accessories) for $75! A loud JTFO escaped my lips. she did say that when the device did come in from Samsung to that store that the could replace it with just the phone in hand or that they could replace the phone I had with the S7 or s7 Edge if I wanted something right now. That was not going to happen as I really like the features of the note phones over the standard galaxy phones. So I had to contimplate the thought of keep this potentially explosive phone for another week putting myself and my family at risk or pay another $75 dollars to Verizon and stand in a Hot ass line for the "Privilege," to do so!
Of course, I got in my car cranked the AC and went home. So from the very bottom of my now sweaty heart, thanks +Verizon, for the text message! how about one letting people know when you really have the supply at stores to be able to replace their device as you asked them to do or warning them the bring in the box and and all of the included accessories to avoid an additional charge. AND CHANGE YOUR DAMN iphone launch policies as there are no people standing in lines anymore to get the next fricken stupid iphones...So don't make your already loyal paying customers suffer because of it. It just makes us non-apple fans hate the isheep even more.
