Shaking our heads: the national association representing PBMs says pharmacists should simply volunteer to customers the option to pay the cash price for their prescriptions to help reduce costs, and “the only reason [for pharmacies] to process the claim is to keep the copay for themselves.”
NEWS FLASH: pharmacies aren’t allowed to discuss the cash price under the PBMs’ own contracts.
Amid growing concern about rising drug costs, the practices of prescription benefit management firms are drawing a new level of attention.

These numbers don’t lie: DIR fees and PBM clawbacks impact virtually every ‪#‎communitypharmacy‬ and patient and skew Rx drug costs. 83% of pharmacists have witnessed copay clawbacks at least 10 times during the past month (!!). Copay = full pay now, thanks to ‪#‎PBMs‬.
