- KOCO 5Evening Anchor
Jessica Schambach anchors KOCO 5 News at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. with her co-anchor Paul Folger. For more than a decade, Jessica has covered life-changing events in Oklahoma, including devastating tornadoes, flooding and wildfires.
She believes the most important job for everyone at KOCO 5 News is delivering life-saving information when severe weather threatens Oklahomans. “There is nothing more rewarding than when viewers tell me we made a difference in their lives or helped their families.”
Jessica isn’t one to stay behind the anchor desk. She thrives on reporting from the scene. She has field anchored tornado destruction, Presidential visits, Thunder playoff games – you name it, she has covered it. Over the years, Jessica has enjoyed interviewing celebrities like Carrie Underwood, Ellen DeGeneres and former World News anchor Charles Gibson. But she says some of her most memorable interviews have been right here in Oklahoma. Her work has earned her numerous awards, including Emmys.
Jessica is a graduate of Texas Christian University, with a degree in broadcast journalism. She started her career at the Fort Worth Community Cable Television station while she attended college and spent more than two years in Southern Oregon covering news there as a weekend co-anchor. She started working at KOCO 5 News in 2002 as a young reporter and quickly moved up the ranks to morning co-anchor and then evening co-anchor. Jessica feels like she has grown up at KOCO 5 News!
In her free time, Jessica enjoys traveling, working out at the YMCA and enjoying mother nature. But her greatest joy is spending time with her husband, daughter and step-sons.
She is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
