Latest update.  Kheper net still down, probably indefinitely.  Can anyone suggest a cheap domain name registration site.  Dreamhost was suggested.  I want to make sure no one steals the domain.  Currently have very little internet access, so kheper net unlikely to be up for quite a few months.  Really i'd love for someone else to take over the whole project.  All my attention is now in writing sci fi.  If anyone else would like to take over management of kheper net let me know.  You're free naturally to add your own content, in fact i'd like u to so it doesn't remain static, it'd be like orion's arm com, where i handed it over to other ppl, or to palaeos com where one very hard working and admirable editor is now running things

Current schedule - will send off a block of the first 7 or 8 chapters of my SF story on 31 Apr  (reason for delay constant perfectionism, rewriting and adding a new character, but that's my deadline), if anyone wants to review, let me know

I need to also start looking at possible epublishers or print publishers.

Planning on having the manuscript for the first ebook installment ready on 13 June

Been reading Ballard of Halo Jones by Alan Moore; astonishingly, very similar themes to my own scifi/SF story in progress (personally i hate the artwork though, apparently was deliberate as a rebuke to the mag editors who wanted a bimbo look); my story will feature more themes and characters but, the idea of a far future "everywoman" in a space opera setting is almost identical (except my characters have more abilities and are more eccentric). Personally i find superhero comics tedious now (liked them when i was a kid, but having seen the movie adaptations been totally put off), ditto macho powered armour soldiers and bimbos in midriffe top powered armour; i hate all that stuff. so i'm rebelling against it, just as Alan Moore did & does

I was supposed to have the draft of my own story ready but various real life issues have come up, delaying things, but writing going really really well. For what it's about, think Halo Jones (see prev entry) meets Lord of the Rings meets Star Wars meets .....

I'm going to try to get the first draft of the opening chapters of my first book ready in a few weeks. If anyone would like to read it & give me feedback, let me know.

A few things any possible reviewers might want to know

(a) This is not a traditional sci fi / SF story like Heinlein, Asimov, etc. The most important elements are the people in it, rather than, say, the problem solving of hard science SF. In this context is much more "high brow" literature than "genre" literature; i.e. it is about the human condition rather than spaceships and stuff, altho realistic (i hope) spaceships do feature in it

(b) altho there is esotericism in the story, this is not a book about esotericism and metaphysics. It is not a spiritual or new age allegory. It is nothing like the Celestine Prophecy or Dan Brown.

(c) while there is adventuring later (like Star Wars or Star Trek), this is slow to get going, in the first installment (& probably for the next few) most of the story takes place on a single asteroid.

(d) VERY IMPORTANT! the material i have written and am writing often contains or includes explicate and graphic sexual and other intimate "body functions" content that some readers may find offensive. Essentially i'm reacting against this whole bloodless, bodiless, disembodied world of ideas on the one hand, and mindless slaughter on the other, that characterises not only most of sci fi / SF but also most fiction in general.

(e) this story wears its politics and its ethics on its sleeve, and you may find my views controversial or in disagreement with your own (or you may not) although it can be read in a purely non-political and non-ethical manner as well (as simple dystopian space fiction).

(f) you'll no doubt guess not everything i write is what i believe in. Often i'll put ideas i explicitly disagree with, or actions i would find abhorrent, in the characters. This is for dramatic and dialectic purposes.

If after all this you are interested in reviewing my work and giving feedback please let me know. However please don't feel under any obligation to!

thank you!

My novel will have a female rather than a male protagonist, who will be (i hope) realistic rather than a mary sue "superhero"; far future geek girl rather than "waif fu", gusty but not absurd

In working on my own science fiction novel i am trying to make the characters all-rounded, the settings complex, & the narrative multilayered & able to be read on different levels (as adventure, as social commentary, as satire, as human drama, as gee whizz sci fi, etc)

Currently working on epic Hard Science Fiction Fantasy novel
Introduction
I'm a science fiction writer, animal rights (sentientism) advocate, futurist, vegan, integral esoteric-gnost\ic philosopher, student of Integral Yoga and the history and evolution of life on Earth.  I have authored or co-authored three huge web projects: Kheper net (Esotericism, Spirituality, Integralism), Palaeos  (the evolutionary history of life on Earth), and Orion's Arm (Science Fiction / hypothetical future history). At the moment I'm working on an epic Hard Science Fiction Fantasy novel (a satirical/straight space opera incorporating hard science, esotericist, science fantasy, funny/embarrassing autobiographical anecdotes (veiled to protect the innoicent), and integral yoga themes).
