I LOVE this place!! First note is it's earned several Diamond Awards. My first experience was awesome, so I went back. Yeeeppp, It's still amazing! You will eat until you are uncomfortable... promise. I'm a strategic eater, so most places I pass on bread, but it's worth it here. And their garlic cheese biscuits I'd fight over... Just sayin'. -Calamari and Fried Fontina is great. Sadly, I didn't try much of the Calamari because someone was a little too greedy to share. SMH. -Entrees were the Petto di Pollo Grigliatta (Grilled chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes in an awesome sauce), and the Alfredo type dish adding shrimp) and a side of their Italian sausage. Plus we begged for two more of the biscuits. Everything was incredible and tasted really authentic. I'll say that I preferred the Salmon dish over the Pollo Grigliatta, which I had for my 1st time. BUT the Pollo was still awesome and a great change from my norm. Other notes- They are really accommodating here, so don't hesitate to ask. Tap water tastes like tap water, so go ahead and get the bottled. Tea is unsweetened and served cold so..

My husband and I went on Friday night several weeks ago. After reading some of the reviews, I really didn't know what to expect, but being an optimist spurred me on to try the restaurant. Signage to find it could be improved upon, but once we asked for directions , it was not a problem to find. Carlos showed us to a table and also served as our waiter. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and was super attentive but not obnoxiously so. The food was subtly and perfectly flavored and prepared, a gastronomical delight! It was a perfect evening that we hope to duplicate in the near future.

The "little brother" of the Buckhead location, placed in a garden setting of the Crowne Plaza. Same outstanding food, but seems to lose the intimacy of the Buckhead location. You'll certainly never see the Mafia here, but certainly have outstanding Italian fare available nowhere else on the north side.

La Grotta is a traditional northern Italian influenced five diamond awarded ristorante Italiano. Chef Micheal has created a decadent yet simple menu that let's each dish be well composed and balanced. Accompanied with an excellent wine selection to make a true dining experience. Do not be afraid to ask for an item off the menu as the old school vibe still exists and the chef will accommodate to the true essence of how true a genuine ristorante is in Italy. The pasta speaks for itself, try the seafood with linguini or a fettuccini chicken to satisfy that pasta craving one has when craving that pasta desire. Ask for Danny to help find that perfect wine to accompany a special evening. Enjoy.

Excellent ambience and service. There was a small band playing Christmas songs with a dance floor. Lots of romance. Chefs special was a filet, veal chop, and 2 large shrimp. It was excellent. Will definitely go again. A side note: when I arrived there was a woman threatening to sue the restaurant because her anniversary dinner was not what she expected. I overheard the manager doing his best to accommodate her and finally offering to pay for her meal. She then asked how he could refund HER money since she had used a groupon. PEOPLE PLEASE!

The restaurant has apparently lost anything in the way of food quality, service or ambiance. This is in spite of the reviewer with the "cold fish". We recently attended a bridge tournament in the Crowne Plaza only to be pleasantly surprised to find this great four diamond restaurant downstairs. Our only complaint was that they were not open on a holiday.

Great food and atmosphere. The servers are always helpful and attentive! I came to this place just to get some pricing for my wedding. The service was so good and personable, that I stopped looking for other places and decided to celebrate my reception there. The day of my wedding, the staff was so helpful and attentive, that took all the stress of my shoulders. They made sure that my guests and I enjoyed ourselves. What to say about the food, it was delicious! I really felt like home!
