Retention is an interesting, and somewhat problematic, matter. By some accounts, in the very near future, the majority of workers will be contractors: hired for a project or a purpose, and moving on when the engagement is complete. There are a number of developments, from personal learning environments to badging, that may be more significant than traditional corporate training. We are all trying to figure out what the new paradigm will be.
Finally, the recognition training deserves!

Check out this great post on the link between employee training and retention   #training

Beautiful interview! I'm looking forward to hearing Julian's session at mLearnCon.
TWIST Conversations: Julian Stodd on Learning in the Social Age

In this episode of TWIST Conversations David Kelly chats with Julian Stodd, Founder and Co-captain of SeaSalt Learning. They talk about how learning has changed in an age where social is embedded into everything we do, the increased focus on informal learning communities, and how mobile technologies are driving a shift in the ways we look at learning. It's an even slower road when faced with entrenched financial self-interest. Think about all the business models in the learning and development arena that are vulnerable to erosion by user-generated content, collaborative learning, empowerment of the informal, crowdsourcing, and other forms of "social learning."
