Inspired by the Supper Club experience of a bygone era, The Bedford puts a modern-day twist on the concept by offering more than just a restaurant. Underground but not exclusive, this Wicker Park outpost offers a full nightlife experience without the formality. Come into the reclaimed landmark bank for a drink or small bite, and end up staying for a full meal, music and more. Sip on one of our signature cocktails in the one-of-a-kind lounge in a former bank vault; experience our boutique wine, beer and spirits selection at the bustling bar; or enjoy our celebrated cuisine in the intimate dining room. Stick around after dinner and you just might find yourself ready to mingle, enjoy some tunes and the company of an old (or new) friend. You could go somewhere else, but why would you want to? The Bedford is an affordable luxury right in the heart of Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. Experience it for yourself.

Have not stepped a foot in and already, horrible customer service. I bought a Groupon, and you HAVE to make a reservation through Groupon (common, no Open Table?) Strike 1. I called before to ask if it was necessary and if they accept walk ins. I'm not a fan of dinner reservations because a little thing called life just always gets in the way. Strike 2. Oh, you also cannot book for the night of or next day. Very inconvenient.... So I set my reservation for July 16. And guess what. I couldn't make it. I didn't cancel it on Groupon so they marked it as redeemed. They will not honor it or put the money towards my bill. Strike 3. Hey Bedford. I want my $60 back.

This is a great spot for drinks, especially in the beautiful old bank vault. Dinner was good but as far as food goes in the city for this caliber restaurant I think other places do food better. The presentation of the oysters was great and they were fresh. The sweet potato gnocchi is probably my favorite main dish. This is a good spot to take out of towners, or a first spot for a girls night out.

The layout is interesting with the safe. The food and drinks are meh. The service is absolutely appalling. I had a 9pm booking that I arrived 1hr early for. There were 3 empty tables and they would not seat us. They remained empty the whole time and then seated us at one of these empty tables 1 hr later. Use some common sense ppl?! The floor manager with shaved hair and glasses is enough to make me NEVER come here again or suggest it to anyone.

I love renovated, re-purposed spaces, and this is one of the best in the neighborhood. This is another bank renovation, I believe Walgreens took some inspiration from their work. The old vault is a lounge and the remaining space is a clean, modern feeling restaurant/bar. They tend to have live Jazz on Thursday nights, it can be a bit loud sitting next to the band in the vault, but a bar seat gets you just the right balance of music and attention from the bar tender. Their cocktails are a spin on classics - a couple personal favorites are the Bedford Sling and the Cucumber Cooler. Prices can seem a bit high, but they're really comparable to other lounges in the area (the Violet Hour, etc.). Definitely a great date night spot for drinks or dinner, a great girls night out spot for the cocktails & lounge, or just an "I just want to sit at the bar and listen to Jazz alone" spot.

To get to The Bedford, you have to go downstairs into the basement level. However, once you're down there, the place is huge and has lots of cool details, such as the bank vault room. It's easy to loose track of time down there, since there's no sunlight. The food is decent, my favorite is the fried cauliflower, and drinks are average priced.

Cool atmosphere, great service and live music in the Vault! The food was okay, but the cocktails were unique and delicious.

Superior service and atmosphere. Appetizers and large plates (steak, lamb, and fish) were unique and delicious.
