SJS produces a winning formula to successfully complete the refurbishment and alterations of two lecture theatres within the Joseph Black Building at the School of Chemistry, for University of Edinburgh. The refreshed lecture theatres were successfully transformed in a 10 week programme over the summer recess ready for the students and staff returning for the start of the new term. SJS are delighted to have worked in partnership with the University of Edinburgh Team & Taylor Associates (M&E) Ltd in delivering another quality project for our valued client the University of Edinburgh.

We are delighted to have completed the fourth and final phase of another quality refurbishment project at Holm House, the senior girl’s boarding accommodation, for our valued client Loretto School. The project was delivered in four phases, all carried out during student holiday breaks over the past 12 months. New modern study areas, common rooms, circulation areas, dormitories, kitchens, shower cubicles and toilets facilities were all transformed ready for students returning at the start of each term. We hope the students enjoy their lovely new accommodation facilities.

On your Marks, Get Set, Go! The students at Loretto School returned to a transformed Sports Hall featuring a championship grade sports courts. The refurbishment project was completed during the 8 week schools summer holiday. The transformation includes a complete new roof structure, improved sporting facilities, a vibrant main hall and a new fitness suite along with modern, energy efficient heating, ventilation and lighting systems. SJS are delighted to have again supported our valued client Loretto School by delivering another successful project and improving the teaching and recreational facilities for the staff and students.

The finishing touches are being applied to an oak reception desk produced in our specialist joinery manufacturing facility for our valued client the University of Edinburgh. The curved reception desk is part of our project to refurbish and repurpose an office space within the University of Edinburgh Sanderson Building to form a board room for the school of Engineering.

Our project to refurbish the Loretto School Sports Hall is progressing well. The project being carried out during the schools summer holiday is on schedule to be completed in August for the students returning from their summer break. The refurbishment will provide much improved sporting facilities including a vibrant main hall and new fitness suite along with a complete new roof and modern heating, ventilation and lighting systems. Another quality transformation for our valued client Loretto School.

Another University test successfully passed by SJS! We are delighted to have completed the alteration & refurbishment of the new NG.10 laboratory space within the John Coulson Building for Heriot Watt University. The refreshed two storey laboratory now benefits from a new mezzanine level creating valuable additional space within the previous laboratory area. We are delighted to have worked in partnership with ECD Architects, Cundall, KJ Tait Engineers, Summers Inman and Keegans Group in providing quality upgraded and refurbished facilities in this latest project for our valued client Heriot Watt University.

We are delighted to have completed the fit-out, alterations and refurbishment project within the Gallery of Modern Art One for the National Galleries of Scotland. The space is looking bright and refreshed featuring new exterior cladding, a new purpose built storage facility, renewed timber sash & case windows and refurbished office suites & facilities. SJS are delighted to have successfully delivered another quality project for our valued client the National Galleries of Scotland.

Brian Philip becomes the newest member of our bespoke manufacturing joinery team, starting his modern apprenticeship with SJS as a bench hand joiner. We are delighted to welcome Brian into our business as part of our annual apprenticeship development program and wish him every success as he sets out on his career. Welcome Brian!

We are delighted to have secured the alterations and refurbishment of the printing space within the Chrystal MacMillan Building for The University of Edinburgh. The facility will be converted into a modern, bright and vibrant meeting pod, appealing to both students and staff. We look forward to working successfully in partnership with the UoE Team, Taylor Associates (M&E) Ltd and Currie & Brown (PQS) to deliver another quality project for our valued client The University of Edinburgh.
