To all our brides and grooms - - "Thank You" for honoring us for the 8th continuous year! First the Bride's Choice Awards, and now the Couples' Choice Awards! We are honored and humbled at the same time. We couldn't do it without each and every one of you! Looking forward to a great 2017. #sddj #greenbaydjs #wisconsinweddings #greenbayweddings

DJ Hiring Tip:

We hope these might help you in your search! There are basically 4 types of DJ services out there. So as you look around for your big day be aware of these and ask questions about them. Most of this is not known by those hiring a DJ for their wedding, and in some cases may be considered the "dirty little secrets" about DJs in general. Of course most recognize, there are "full time" and "part time" DJs, but for the sake of this tip, we will assume these are all "full time" DJ services.

1) "Single Op", or single operator. Meaning an individual that DJs the event, books their own events and does it all. They are literally a one peson operation. Can be a good thing, can be a bad thing.

2) "Multi Op", or multi system operations. Meaning there are multiple DJs under one company name. Maybe 2-3, or maybe 15-20. Can be good, can be bad... again a personal choice based on comfort level.

3) "Sub Contracted DJs". A well known DJ service books as many events as they can for a particular day. When they are full internally, they pass off the events to other smaller, local DJs under their name for that night. Mostly not a good situation if you believe you are dealing with a service, and really, it's that's service's part time person.

4) "Franchise DJs". Basically a DJ company that is a multi-op that the DJ has to "buy" into. No different than a McDonald's that is not owned by the parent company, rather owned by the franchisee under the McDonalds name. They need to pay a portion of their event to the franchise, but perhaps book their own events and use their own equipment.

WEDDLive is used for the fun parts of the evening, capturing your crowd as things are happening "live". The best part is that no one can see the systems above the crowd! Think of it as a giant "photobooth" of the entire ballroom. But, only the DJs and the Bride & Groom know WEDDLive is there! We also use it to capture the more sentimental parts of the night. Here are some brief clips of special dances from different events. WEDDLive is an original, only available with Sound Dimensions Disc Jockeys!

We've always been into cutting edge lighting. Whether it be for the dance floor or uplighing design. But, we know that Bride's and Grooms are not necessarily going to hire us for our equipment, they want to have a great dancing party delivered by a business with quality value and service. Taking it a step further, world class concert touring equipment gives us the "tools" to do things with the music and the show that other DJs can't accomplish. That means fresh, new, unique ways of doing things for our clients. Our lighting is dynamic and brings the show "alive". As we always say "uniquely original" !
Now, another leap forward. After months of preparation, we have unveiled entirely new lighting systems for our Elegance, Radiance and Ambiance systems. Two (2) concert tour market leaders will power our entire lighting systems, both Martin Lighting and Elation Lighting have guided us through the process. The video below gives you a small look at the new lighting systems, whether they be for large events, or smaller more intimate crowds.
We've never purchased sound or lighting systems "off the shelf from a local music store" that's just like every other DJ uses, as it all looks the same. We've always wanted to project a "clean and classy" image for our clients that looks and sounds "fresh".
The same great music, service & value, male/female teams and extensive wedding planning are all there and will continue to improve. When you stop improving, you are in trouble. We've been around since 1988 and you can be assured we will be around years into the future to serve you with the newest sound & lighting technology. We'll be at your event to perform with some of the very best systems, service and experienced personnel !
