Specs has great styles and frames from designers I don't think you can find else where in the triangle. However they are on the costly side. I understand that good design does cost more but not sure the prices are of value. I got some Legre frames from here and they were very poor quality, chipped and tarnished very soon after buying. Not Spec's fault! If you have the cash you will find frames most others dont carry.

I just bought 2 pair of glasses at Specs. I was very impressed with the customer service. My optician, Eduardo, helped me quickly identify frames that were most flattering to my face. He went out of his way to help me find my insurance info and generally made the entire experience wonderful.

sorry. they are overpriced and in my experience they are quite stingy about fixing/replacing broken glasses. i went to their 9th street store for years because they were the only game in town for snazzy frames - definitely not because of the service. the last time i got glasses there was 8 years ago - a pair of regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses cost $900 together. when the sunglass frames broke less than a year after i bought them, they offered me a new pair of frames - for $160. that was too much, and i haven't been back since. i now go to upchurch optical on north roxboro road. they have great frames, great service and unbelievable prices - probably about half what specs charges. and the folks there are ridiculously nice and helpful - they really make buying glasses fun. try them.

I have worn glasses all my life. Ruth and the entire group who work there ensure you are fit with the correct lenses and frames. Even though they may cost a tad bit more they are worth it in customer service selection and fitting to be sure you have correct lenses. If you have a problem they keep working w/you to solve the problem.

I love to wear glasses and have been wearing them since the 3rd grade. The staff at Specs were very good in helping me select the proper color frame that suited my Rx and complimented my face. I have been to many eye Dr. over the years and speak from experience when I say the selection of frames and service at Specs is excellent.

I bought a very nice pair of glasses here over a year ago and recently dropped them in a parking lot. It looked like they'd been run over. I wasn't sure there was any hope. I brought them back to Specs and they repaired them at no charge! I was impressed. You may pay a little more (like one review mentions) but in my opinion it is well worth it. By the way - I just read the last review before mine and I had a much different (good) experience.

Extra-extraordinary (yes, it's possible). I have been wearing glasses since I can remember and my recent experience with Specs was, without question, the best in customer service, selection, and pricing. Christian is magnanimous - I am a broke college student and she kindly and covertly helped me find a $100-off coupon (pssst it's in the Independent newspaper). I even received my glasses and contacts the *day after* I ordered them, which has *never* happened before. Dealing with the eye doctor always used to be a huge pain, but Specs and its staff make it so much easier.

I thought I was the only one! I thought the owner was going to hit me when I complained about my new glasses. I could not read my watch with the new prescription and said so - his answer was to hold it further away from my eyes! When I said that was ridiculous, my arm was only as long as it was, he got very angry and aggressive and it went on and on. I no longer go there and I suggest you don't either. If you do, be VERY nice to the owner or take cousin "Guido" with you. I recommend the latter.
