I knew this day would come, but didn't expect it would be quite this depressing...

- this post is prefaced by the fact that I get my pop culture knowledge from NPR ;) - This is actually a really cute song and the story has the parodies of it and the one by the 8th graders is aweseom just hillarious!

http://www.change.org/petitions/epa-save-our-bees-and-the-food-we-eat-ban-bayer-s-chemicals-now#

This petition only needs about 20,000 more people to reach the goal of 150,000 to petition the EPA. It's always a good idea to get voices together

So I find that for both international and common cases I prefer Google Scholar to either Lexis Nexis or Westlaw. Hopefully Google develops a program to more narrowly find a specific type of case and then we will have free and accessible legal information as well. Not only will that lower the costs of litigation, but it will provide access to the common citizen to information from our legal system.

Very well done Google.

The McGeorge School of Law, Military Law Society is putting on an event today raising awareness and support for homeless veterans. There are 131,000 homeless veterans on the street every night. In support of these veterans, the McGeorge students, faculty, and staff and members of the Sacramento community at large, are going to complete 131,000 push-ups. For every push-up completed, McGeorge veteran alumni are going to donate a certain amount of money. Every push-up counts, every push-up will make a difference for homeless veterans. If you're in the area come stop by and knock out a few push-ups.

I made a petition. Sac Public Library had this on their website, but I figured lets try and reach out to more people and send more letters to the publishers. If you have time and want to sign it that would be awesome. The petition is completely self serving because I read ebooks from the library constantly and am always frustrated with the limited selection.

Thanks for your support!

So I have to get a smart phone, it's time for me to start acting like an adult before I graduate from law school. I would like a phone with a long battery life that can sync with microsoft office. Other than that, I'm not too concerned with special features. Any suggestions?

When you figure it out, let me know. I should probably learn how to use one of those things before I am issued one at work and have to ask for help. I've already gotten in trouble at my internship for not getting documents that were sent to me while I was driving to a meeting.

Here's a video argument of why we should abolish Pennies in the US. My favorite part is the description of CoinStar - a stock a bought and made quite a killing on! :-) If the Treasury/Government does finally make the move to get rid of old Abe, I wonder if our children will know who he is? With that beard, black hair and top hat, he's the most iconic of our Presidents. I think he'll still be remembered.

Generally, I have had good experiences with Jos A Bank; however, the experience I had working with the people at this particular store was so horrendous that I decided I needed to write a review. We decided to use Jos A Bank to do the tuxedo rentals for our wedding. My husband went to our local store in Sacramento and we had a great experience working with the gentleman there who sold us my husband's tux. Furthermore, my brother, who also bought a suit, had a great experience working with his salesman in his local store in Boston. The problem came when my husband's brother tried to arrange for tux rentals for the other two groomsmen through his local Huntington Beach store. The Huntington Beach store has only one person who can access rentals through there store and therefore, unless she was in the store and not busy, we were unable to call and get any information about our rental order. Though this was terribly annoying, we could have dealt with this on our own. The problem arose when we went to the Jos A Bank in Connecticut a week before the wedding and found out that one of the bow tie cummerbund combos was not in the system. The sales associate in Connecticut was able to fix the problem and even made sure that the order was expedited so that he could get it in early and make sure there were no other problems. Overall, this is a reputable company, but the Huntington Beach store has terrible service and the one person who does rentals there cannot be trusted to do her job.
