My favorite cafe for so many reasons! 1) super cheap - highlight is the cheap Mitchell's ice cream with huge portions (one scoop here is like two elsewhere) 2) huge menu means something for everyone if you meet up a friend here - everything from crepes to sundaes to afternoon tea, and more. One of my favs are the super chewy this-is-what-bagels-should-taste-like H&H bagels. The tuna melt is another go-to. 3) this place is another offering of the Delancey Foundation's rehabilitation program so it's for a good cause 4) part bookstore! 5) magazines to read (in the cafe side magazine racks - not the ones for sale on the bookstore side) 6) kid friendly - I always see tots here. the staff is super nice to them, and there's a changing station in the bathroom 7) outside patio with a mini garden is wonderful for a sunny day. You also have the waterfront view 8) they are open until late! Cons: can get chilly inside, and there are often flies to annoy you. There's a piano if a kid banging on the piano is not your thing.

This is a nice café. We have a nice selection of books and cards couches and chairs but you can enjoy it while drinking your coffee. They also have a nice garden in the back with tables benches and chairs. There are flowers and there's a lawn that's really nice. The coffee however could use a facelift. Otherwise it would behey five-star. Still, it is a nice place to get a cup of coffee.

Great place to hang out all day, work on your computer, read books, sit in their zen like garden and also enjoy their fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, sandwiches, quiches and decadent cakes!!

4.5 stars, but only because there's no Wi-Fi. One of the best cafe's in the city in my opinion. Lots of space indoors and outdoors. On a sunny day, grab a seat outside in their courtyard area. They have such a variety of menu items: coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, tapas, shakes, pressed juices, afternoon/high tea. They have fantastic smoothies (you can actually taste the fruit, and not the sherbet flavor and consistency you get from Jamba Juice ones). And to top it all off, prices are pretty much half of what you'd pay at any Starbucks or Peet's.

Very spacious and includes a bookstore. Food was good and expect your typical baked good. Coffee was also very good. This place features both in-door and out-door seating. There are both tables and couches. A nice place to relax and very casual.

Best in the city! I've been to Crossroad Cafe many times and have introduced many friends to this hidden gem. I've always had a pleasant experience. Even when I thought things weren't going to go well when my lunch left unattended was ravaged by birds (yes, you'll need to watch out for that), the staff inside were more than accommodating and served me a new sandwich at no charge. It just goes to show that they provide a great product by great people. I love the book store portion and inside cafe, but my favorite part is the outdoor tables with a serene fountain and grass area.

This is hands-down my favourite cafe in SF. It has a really broad menu, from Mediterranean-style food to gigantic sandwiches and delicious salads (love the seared tuna one). It serves a great selection of beer and wine too - but the absolute crowning glory is the gorgeous garden out back where you can read or gaze out onto the Embarcadero and the Bay. It also supports the Delancy St Foundation, which helps ex-convicts and other people rehabilitate into society - so you're supporting a brilliant cause!
