+Richard Avery I was born in 1980.  I recall the challenger disaster. I was in first grade, and it was a big deal since first time school teacher was going up into space.  Classrooms across USA was watching it live.  That had an impact.  My parents also got first desktop in 1986, so I recall learning dos.  I also remember Berlin Wall Falling down, ET and Return of the Jedi in theaters.

What would you ask a slave? This historical reenactor finally gets to answer questions the way she always wanted to at Mt. Vernon.
Joel Bass originally shared:

She could have just quit. It's not like anyone held a gun to her head and said, "You're a slave now."

Just finished it. Really enjoyed it. So many layers going on - the life of a modern immigrant, nostalgia vs. reality, trying to find love on the internet, trying to get over your own demons and meet people who are over their own, etc. Great stuff.

Moving that scaffolding must have been a costly affair for sure.

I am attracted and repelled...
The real estate listing for 3970 Spencer St. shows a foreclosed two-bedroom on a suburban street east of the Las Vegas Strip. That's nothing remarkable in Vegas, which has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the country, but this house is special: It's 25 feet unground. A high-end fallout shelter built in secret, it's a small monument to the Cold War--as well as the dream of post-War suburbia in the American west.

Nooo, I think sending them to Iraq would be just the thing-maybe someone could arrange a visit to Mosul.

Was born with pretty much the best birth defect ever: No wisdom teeth. But I'd almost rather have gotten tetrachromatic vision. Oh well.
