My wife and I decided to go to Ted's Montana Grill on a Friday night in advance of a fundraiser. We figured we would pop in around 5:30-6 pm to grab a quick appetizer and drink. The main entrance opens up into a large foyer that has seating for both Ted's Montana Grill and the Bacchus pub. The space is well lit, fun and lively. Upon arriving at the wait table for Teds, we immediately noted how friendly and social the staff were, something that is key to an overall great restaurant atmosphere. We had no wait for a table. We opted for a table in the foyer as there was to be live music that started promptly at 6 and provided great background music. The beer choices are okay, not as diverse as some other restaurants around town. I chose a bourbon and received a generous pour. We selected the Bison Nachos and the bison sliders both of which were absolutely delicious and we will return specifically for them.

Liked the location and setting. Would have been better if the food was edible. Shared a bison burger and hamberger. Both were overcooked and tasteless, with no seasoning of any kind. Bun was stale and cold.

Took my Beautiful wife out to dinner for her birthday. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the service was good and the food, specifically Teds Filet...Stellar! Make sure to order the homemade onion rings and the crab cakes! Just Awesome!

I'm from the east coast and decided to try the bison ribeye since I've never seen or had it out there. Absolutely no sauce needed. Tasted very flavourful, tender and cooked to order. Came out very quick for an 8 o'clock seating. Little on the high side and just a little more fat than that I'm used to on a ribeye (could have just been my cut) but very much worth every bite! Ceasar salad was very good also. I do recommend.

Ted's has an alluring menu and ambiance, but don't let it fool you. For their above average price point, the food is greasy and sloppy. It used to be much better a few years ago, but it has really gone downhill. Every time I go there now, I leave feeling slightly ill because of the grease. The fish is okay, but stay away from anything with ground beef/bison. The drinks are good, but also overpriced. The staff is just okay, not stellar customer service, but not awful. There are plenty of better places to wine/dine in Bozeman.

Highly disappointed with my thanksgiving dinner with my daughter ... We ordered the crab cakes for an app there was only 1 cake for $14.99 and 2 turkey dinners $25.00 per plate.... 2 Ice Tea to drink in a regular 8 oz glass and cardboard straws $2.99 ... I went with asparagus for my veggie worst asparagus i have ever had took one bite and was done with it.... turkey was good, stuffing good, garlic potatoes we're a little on the cool to warm side, and tasted okay and some squash mixed with some soggy stuff didnt eat that.... Server never came back to our table until we we're done.. I have been to teds a few times and loved it however after tonight i probably will not return... My ticket was $69.98 for 2

We have been eating at Ted's since they first opened and they have become a go to place for company visiting to show them a bit of Montana Hospitality and some outstanding food. The Bison has always been a big hit with the folks not from the west. We like to many other dishes to mention. Everyplace has a bad day now and then and we had had one at Ted's some time back. After making it known to Ted's that we had a bad experience we were contacted by the proprietor Selene S. It was obvious she was most concerned about what had happened and was sincerely interested in taking care of Ted's customers. We decided to try it again last Saturday and boy am I glad we did! The service was outstanding as always. We both had the Salmon and it was prepared perfectly. What a wonderful dining experience! 1 Bad experience out of many fantastic ones is unfortunate but it happens, how it is dealt with is the most important thing! Our dinner Saturday shows that our less than perfect meal was an anomaly and I'm sure glad it didn't keep us from coming back to one of our favorite restaurants in Bozeman. We will be back again soon!

Others reviewers here have said "They must be negative everywhere". Search my reviews, you'll see this is not the case. I'm old enough and seasoned enough to know for myself what is quality, and what isn't. Teds has really let me down on a number of occasions, the last being when they twice tried to cook a ribeye steak and got it horribly wrong both times. I simply wanted medium, it first came out cooked grey and hard all the way through, then the second time (after a 25 minute wait!) it was raw, cold, and bloody in the middle. I'm not sure how they cook them because I didn't see grill marks on the beef. At that point I didn't want to try again for a third time for fears they may do something to my food (probably not really justified on my part, I know people are basically good, but still) and I didn't want to wait another 25 minutes. So I didn't have dinner that night. Anyway, I figure if a steak house can't figure out how to cook a steak and get it at least close to right, I have no further use for them. Real review, from a real person, who often gives very favorable scores when earned.
