Pac-Northwest Life: Started the ascent at 4 AM, tagged the summit of Mount Stuart at 8 AM, beach volleyball back in Seattle at 7:30 PM...where I put more sand in my pants than I filled my shoes with on the descent of Mt. Stuart.

Why does it take so long for Monday to come back around?

Koozie, whiskey, beer, and friends...yep, there are actually fourteen 'ten essentials' to have with you on any adventure.

It's closing time at the shop, so I reckon it's time to hit the town and celebrate all the love in the air.

All I could do was smile...

Yesterday, I found a new path (got lost) on a darling four hour trail run at Mount Rainier, sipped a rejuvenating IPA, slumbered easily beneath the sunshine on a rock at Mowich Lake, and welcomed the night sky to the Pacific-Northwest at Alki Beach with a few games of beach volleyball. The warm sand felt so good to my tired feet.

Most satisfying moment of the day, however, I took a shit in the middle of a field of wildflowers while gazing at Mount Rainier. I put a few chalk marks in the "Winning at Life" column for that decision.

There is no place I'd rather be than soaked in sunshine while trail running through mountain air. This is who I am.

Four years ago I packed up my Subaru and moved three-thousand miles away from friends and family and everything I knew to be home. I did what so many people around me said, "I wish I had..."

I've had high-highs and low-lows. but most of all I've learned that through it all, the memories of moonlight through the pines keep my roots resting firmly with "Georgia On My Mind."

And, y'all, these "State-triotic" Georgia flag shorts kick ass.

The beer was cold, the air was colder, and the views were lonely enough to be comforting.

There's a calm about Alaska that just keeps me wanting to go back. It's not even that my days, right now, are filled with too much, but the warm light from sunrise to sunset felt so damn good.

One day, one day soon. I hope.

Crawling beneath twenty feet of motionless blue ice, I found daylight. Standing motionless myself, mostly calm but tingling with adrenaline at the thought of "what if," I absorbed the sound of rushing glacial water echoing violently against the walls of thousand year old ice. Peaceful and unforgettable, to say the least.
