Haven't been on here in ages, so I'll make up for it with a book giveaway. :) The wonderful Punky Brewster - Soleil Moon Frye herself - is on The Balance Sheet today, giving some fab answers on navigating parenthood and giving way three signed copies of her new book, Happy Chaos. Come enter!
I'm really pleased to be part of The Huffington Post's new Parents Channel, which is launching today. My first piece ponders why parenting has become such a competitive sport, and really, who ends up the winner anyway?
Gary - I bet it's intensified, in terms of the actual parents. I don't know - just a theory I have. Amber - I know, we'll see. I'm guessing that it's a universal phenomenon but certainly worse in some places (like NYC) than others.
Any Rizzoli & Isles fans on? I have a Q/A with the Sasha Alexander up on The Balance Sheet today. She is truly so lovely - had a fabulous email exchange with her - and I also love that the show endorses strong, smart, complicated women. Hello, Hollywood executives, THIS is what we're looking for!
Good way to tell if your husband is listening: mention in the middle of a conversation that you're interviewing Jessica Alba today. Mine looked up after about three minutes and said, "Wait, YOU'RE INTERVIEWING JESSICA ALBA TODAY?" So busted.
Moms: I have a great interview with maternity-designer-to-the-stars, Liz Lange, up today on The Balance Sheets. She's discussing her own balancing act, giving maternity tips and offering up entrepreneurial advice. Click over to take a read and please feel free to pass along!
Did you guys watch? Did you love it? (Yes, I'm obviously talking Friday Night Lights.) Here's my take via my Paste Magazine recap - essentially a love letter to anyone who has ever worked on the show. If you know anyone who has, please pass it along! :)
