I've read in I don't know how long--Stephen Dixon.
One of my wonderful professors at Johns Hopkins, Stephen Dixon, sent this note that makes me very happy:
Dear Donna, I knew you were a good writer but I didn't know you were this good.Everything you do works. Your writing is clear, intelligent, funny and touching, and a whole lot more.Your stories, complex as the situations are, were a breeze to read. That isn't easy for the writer to pull off, but you do.
The Kenny Rodgers story is amazing. All that you do in it in so short a space. You have a special talent--very special.
One final word: you're a terrific writer with a unique style and
a fresh voice and fresh things to say.
Very best to you always...Stephen
