Greater Roadrunner. Roadrunners are often inquisitive and curious birds. This one approached me and seemed just as interested in me as I was in it.

Over the years I've had roadrunners run right up to me with food in their bill, as if showing off their catch. Meep meep!

We had very clear skies today - enough to afford 65 mile views! San Francisco was easily seen at about 55 miles, with Mount Tamalpais at 65 miles! Photos are with a 400mm lens.

American Kestrels have been numerous in our area lately. There's a pair near our house, and I spotted 5 on a short hike in the hills today. This is a female from last weekend.
