+Ivan Begley I still have my copy of Mech Commander 2 thankfully. I am also pretty sure that I have Mechwarrior 2 mercenaries somewhere.

Evan's Playtest Campaign  -

Players map of Devonshire and a small caveat
The events of this game are supposedly set in Devonshire - and potentially other areas of Britain and Normandy - during the year 1141.  However, I have taken certain liberties when my meager research yielded nothing or in order to fit the game setup.  This will inevitably mean certain historical figures aren't present or are present when they shouldn't be, places have moved, an other things that make this an imperfect simulation of the past.  Please try to bear with me.

This seems like a good place to share this.
The medieval fantasy genre has a very broad list of tropes that are unlikely to be all correct. Of the following list, which have basis in medieval Eu...

I have been extremely glad at the enthusiasm towards STARSLUGS that has followed my initial conception of the idea as the Free Trader Conventions a number of weeks ago.  However, I think that my desires for it may have been a bit too limited, as I find some of the other campaign ideas to stray a bit too far from the traditional Traveller model for my tastes.

My initial intent was for something more limited than the FLAILSNAILS setup, which I find often - somewhat ironically - destroys the uniqueness of an individual setting.  However, I think I was a bit unclear in my communicating that desire, and now I see that there is quite a bit of demand for something more along the FLAILSNAILS line.

This is perfectly fine, and  I would certainly not wish to crush the enthusiasm for such a project.  However, I'm not sure that its where I want to take my campaign.  As such, I will be (temporarily?) removing the Terran Directorate/Boom Worlds from STARSLUGS.  STARSLUGS players will still be invited, and I will still be participating as a player in STARSLUGS campaigns.

I believe there are a few other GMs who are of a similar mind and I am willing to do a smaller scale, more tonally consistent, collaboration with them.

Anyway, y'all have fun and keep being excited!

I completely understand what you're saying, +Evan Elkins. I must confess that I feel somewhat similarly. That's why, when I started thinking about the Elyon Expanse, I chose a subsector that was far away from everyone else: I wanted a buttress against later additions to the sector that might not jibe with the tone I was trying to evoke.

Then I realized that interaction between the various subsectors and campaigns therein was the whole reason I wanted to participate in this in the first place. That gave me pause and I started thinking about what I wanted to do and why and whether it jibed with what other people wanted to do.

What I came to realize is that I have a very specific, probably narrow interpretation of Traveller that not everyone shares (nor should they). What I really want, I think, is a shared campaign with multiple referees, where there's a lot of interaction and certain consistency of "tone." I used to play in a Traveller campaign like that way back when and I've longed for it ever since. I don't know if it's possible to recreate it, but it's what I'm looking for.

Has anyone written up any of the Glorantha cults for OpenQuest?  I realize conversion is probably very simple, but I don't want to do any work I don't have to.

The setup for my 5e Wilderlands campaign.
So despite my last post calling for players, I decided to put my Uz campaign on hiatus because I had that age old problem of burnout.  Now I'm feeling less burned out in time for the release of 5e, and I've mentioned a couple...

I said the pitch would come soon, so here it is.

I'm dumb.  Why would I run Uz with a BRP hack when I said I was going to do this like months ago?*

If anyone is interested, I'll be available at the following times:

Most afternoons
Thursday evenings
Friday evenings
Sunday evenings

Note that some of these are possible times that will be used by +Robert Parker and +Mike Davison for their games, which would make them a no-go for me.

After skimming through RQ6, I'm finding a lot to like; however, if I run it I'd like to use something closer to the BRP advancement system.  If I were to do this, what would I lose?

Very little difference unless you believe players deliberately do things to 'chase' ticks. The current system is designed to prevent that and also to focus development where the player wants and not where they have used skills. I have never seen people chase ticks so I am relaxed with either method. IMHO it will NOT break RQ6 at all. Go for it.

More FA Playtests!
Starting around May 7th, I'm going to have a lot more free time on my hands, and I want to start running a FA game on G+ again.

Thursday, Friday, and Sunday look like the best days for me, though I could also do Monday (but I already have a game going on Monday and don't want to end that).

If you're interested in playtesting, leave a comment.  More info on the setting and stuff to follow soon.
