The current American way of life is behind most of the world's problems.  It's not that we can't drive cars, but that we must stop burning oil to do so.  It's not that we can't fuel our industry and heat and cool our oversized homes, but we must stop burning coal and gas to do so.  100% renewable energy is the absolute minimum requirement for sustainability, a non-negotiable law of nature.

This mostly addresses the psychological reasons for denial, why people are not prepared to face the facts, let alone understand them.

We address the issue of climate change skeptics.

Sounds like our "mission statement".
Would you agree?

Solidarity is not a feeling of vague compassion or shallow distress at the misfortunes of so many people, both near and far. On the contrary, it is a firm and persevering determination to commit oneself to the common good; that is to say, to the good of all and of each individual, because we are all really responsible for all.

I've been working on these simulations and the writeup for a couple months, and thought I should get it out in time to maybe help with the "Fiscal Cliff" debate.  I want it to be clear why we need to reign in the extreme inequity that we now are subject to, especially in the US, but around the world.  A flat tax is not enough. A progressive tax is necessary to keep the rich from getting even richer and more powerful.

Very good article. It is true that public confusion on this issue is a growing problem.
