The menu at Langer's is huge, but the only sandwich that anyone ever raves about is the #19 pastrami sandwich. While the sandwich was full of meaty pastrami, and the rye bread delicious, I thought the Russian dressing was a little overwhelming. I can't help but think that Langer's is a little overrated. I still prefer the options at Bay Cities and Apple Pan on the Westside. The chicken sandwich and fries were pretty standard as well. I liked Langer's, but wouldn't really go out of my way to visit again. Let me know what you think.

I don't know how some idiots put less than 4 stars for Langer's. If you want Pastrami, there is no better place. The 1&2 star ratings must be competitors or ones that want $3 burgers. There is no other reason. I've taken at least 14 different people there and they've all fallen in love with the Pastrami. I order just Pastrami on lightly toasted rye. I put my own mustard and mmmmmmm! The best. It is a 4.5 star rating for me only because they close at 4:00pm; Otherwise a solid 5...

I never liked pastrami until I had the #19. Thanks to my brother who stops by here every so often for lunch, he brought me back a half sandwich to try. Oh my goodness, after one bite I fell in love. Like all other pastramis that are piled with just meat, I like the fact that the #19 has coleslaw with the Russian dressing to cut the saltiness and meaty-ness of the sandwich. I always ask for extra coleslaw and Russian dressing because I just LOVE how creamy and delicious it is.The rye bread is nice and soft. To complement my sandwich, I always get a side of fries, which are nicely fried and golden. When you walk-in, you feel a sense on nostalgia, like you just walked into some diner in a Goodfellas movie. The hospitality is also wonderful here.

The pastrami was over hyped. Over priced. Service wasn't that impressive either. If you want pastrami with history and volume and taste, people should try Johnny's pastrami at crenshaw. Or Cole's in downtown . Their sandwich used to be bigger but I still better than this place.

As we all know, #19 is where it's at. But did you know that their Matzo Ball soup is OFF THE CHAIN?? Not to mention those cheese blintzes. Three pieces of heaven on a plate. Spread some jam on those babies and you are good to go. I'd recommend splitting the #19 with a friend, getting a cup of soup and sharing the blintzes as a sweet/savory dessert.
