In vitro fertilization (IVF) describes a complex combination of procedures designed to treat or overcome a range of infertility factors. Generally, #IVF involves fertilizing eggs with sperm outside of the mother’s body, and then implanting healthy embryos into the mother’s uterus, where at least one can “hatch” (break out of its protective shell) and implant itself into the uterine lining. #FertilitySpecialist #SanAntonioFertilityClinic

A hormonal imbalance is often the source of many frustrated potential parents' inability to conceive. Any number of factors can derail the reproductive cycle, including but not limited to stress, high or low body fat, and radiation therapy. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT), however, can reverse this process. By replenishing reduced levels of female hormones, HRT can help put the reproductive cycle back on track and significantly boost a woman's chance of conceiving. #FertilitySpecialist

A tubal ligation, also known as having your tubes tied, is the process of cutting or blocking the fallopian tubes to prevent pregnancy, and is meant to be a permanent form of birth control. Later in life, many women change their minds about expanding their family, and a tubal reversal can allow you to conceive again. #IVF #FertilitySpecialist #FertilityClinic #78229FertilityClinic #SanAntonioFertilityPhysician

In vitro fertilization #IVF describes a complex combination of procedures designed to treat or overcome a range of #infertility factors. Generally, IVF involves fertilizing eggs with sperm outside of the mother’s body, and then implanting healthy embryos into the mother’s uterus, where at least one can “hatch” (break out of its protective shell) and implant itself into the uterine lining. IVF allows us to test embryos for genetic diseases using PGD and embryo biopsy, and offers a number of other advantages by using your eggs and sperm, or donor eggs and sperm, if necessary. #FertilityPhysician #FertilityClinic

Egg freezing, or oocyte cryopreservation, can help you preserve your healthy, mature eggs in case you wish to become pregnant in the future. Common reasons for choosing to freeze eggs include a career or education that leaves you little extra time to start a family, or an illness that makes pregnancy impractical in the near future, like cancer. Freezing your eggs can help you preserve their fertility, and allow you to use them at a later date, when your eggs may not be as strong and healthy. #FertilitySpecialist
