The good news is that companies are starting to take meaningful active steps towards preventing #sexualharassment.

"Recent sexual harassment scandals have rapidly altered the climate in U.S. workplaces, launching a fundamental shift in corporate behavior and prompting executives to scrutinize how employees interact with one another, and are making relevant company-wide sexual harassment #training a top priority."

One such is example is advertising giant Interpublic Group (IPG), whose training session "quizzes employees on what to do when a co-worker discusses weekend sexual exploits at work or comes on to a colleague's girlfriend after hours."

While #tech companies struggle to recruit and retain women, at +Sephora's San Francisco HQ, women not only make up 62% of the overall organization, but they are the majority in its 350-person digital and #engineering staff and hold all but one of the roles on its six-person digital executive #leadership team.

How does anyone in Silicon Valley manage that? According to Mary Beth Laughton, Sephora's SVP of digital, they attract women to the company by encouraging them to take risks without fear of failure.

Uber's attitudes are catching up with the ride-hailing company. London transportation authorities have denied its request to renew its license to operate (which expires Sep. 30th), declaring “Uber’s approach and conduct demonstrate a lack of corporate responsibility” when it comes to reporting crimes, submitting drivers’ medical certificates, and other issues.
