Went here for the first time after seeing it on TV to try the roast beef po boy. The sandwich was okay, but the overall experience was very poor. First off, the hostess was not remotely friendly. Didn't say hello, or welcome, or anything. Just asked how many. Then, the waitresses proceeded to argue over who was going to have to take us. Right in front of us. As if we were a burden or something. The server we ended up never said hi, asked if we'd been there before, offered recommendations, or anything. She never smiled once, and most of the time, didn't even look at us when we were speaking. Brought the food to us, and never came back until we were done. Just abysmal service. Hands down the rudest and most unwelcoming staff I've ever seen. The food is nowhere near enough to overcome everything else. Would not go back, and really wish I'd ate anywhere else. One star is too generous.

Went to R&O's for the first time in the early 1980's. It was a small "hole in the wall" at that time, across the street from where it is now. I have never had a bad meal. The Shrimp and Italian Salads are delicious! Anything Italian is excellent. The Po-Boys are incredible! I love their seafood gumbo. The Pizza's are also delicious. The portions are huge and we normally bring home something to be gobbled up later! The service is prompt and courteous. The food is always the right temperature. I like to call it "comfort food!" R&O's has a laid back atmosphere that is family oriented and clearly a New Orleans favorite!

This is a lively and clean restaurant, and it looks as though it's not been updated since it opened in 1980, which is not a problem. It's a very crowded place, with a loyal clientele. I ordered a seafood platter with stuffed crab ($18.50), and my friends ordered a seafood platter with soft shell crab ($24.50). Both were fried platters. Neither came with a side salad, which was disappointing. We all thought the food was tasty and not greasy, but, for the price, one just does not get too much food. The tartar sauce was excellent, however. It's not in the upper tier of New Orleans area seafood restaurants, but it's worth checking out. RJT

Just watched Mystery Diners and that is all the information I have or will ever need on this place. I will never consider dinning there because of that filthy pig, Dee Dee and seeing how she treats customers, food and her uncle. She is nasty, rude and disrespectful and has absolutely no business in the food industry. I hope the health department gives them some really stiff fines because not only did the other cousins not stop her from rubbing the bread on her sweaty udders, they laughed at her antics and thereby are complicit in the act. I was appaled at her sense of entitlement, but realized where it came from when they said she was rehired. Are you kidding me??? Shut the place down now!

Wow, I only hope uncle UJ realizes that Dirty Dee Dee will become his demise. She is a disgusting excuse for a human being, never mind someone in the food industry. Her behavior is inexcusable and the worst part is that she was not even ashamed of the things she did. Her uncle UJ is being held by the ***** by someone, and he does not deserve to own a restaurant, if he is unable to guarantee a clean, polite environment that serves untainted fresh food. Obviously he made his choice, and chose his dirty(understatement) family over a respectable establishment. If you are thinking about visiting this place, go to food network and watch the video. If he took the proper actions and threw out the trash he would have had a chance, but to see he rehired Dee Dee just goes to show he is no better than her. I can only hope he sees these reviews to see what his choices have brought...a huge failure! I implore you not to visit this place, for your own safety!
