Let me start off by saying that I have been here a total of 5 times now. I have always had excellent food and decent service, especially one time when they were extremely busy and brought me and my husband a little sushi platter to eat from while we waited for our food. We have also purchased a few Groupons for this place and used them with no issues. Last night we brought in a party of 9 to eat and told the waitress at the start the way our checks would be divided. We were given a massive plate of sushi to eat and treated very nicely. My husband got his sushi order though and it wasn't right. He ordered a Super Volcano and got a Super Duper instead... after 5 minutes of back and forth, the waitress came back and told us that it was in fact a Super Duper roll and sort of stood there. He said he wanted what he ordered and the waitress looked flustered, but his food came out eventually. The problem came when we went to pay. We handed the waitress our $20 Groupon and again reminded her that me and my husband were on one ticket. She said we couldn't use the Groupon. I asked why and could not understand her reasons as honestly, she barely spoke English. My husband tried to talk to her but he is English and his accent was making it even worse. She mentioned something about a $40 Groupon for the table? I have no idea. She called the manager over and he said that we could not use the Groupon, as they have to pay rent and they make no money when people use them. I said that is not my problem, I already paid for the Groupon and other people at our table were also trying to reason with them and understand the problem! He then told me that he had seen me in there before and told me the same thing (from what I could gather, we were with a large group then too). Again, I have no idea what he is talking about because the last time I was in there was in December/January, with my parents, and we used a Groupon then as well on one single check with no problems. After much debate, they gave us the $20 discount. Now, we have spent a lot of money at this restaurant and on this particular night, brought SEVEN other people in to spend money with them and they gave us the biggest hassle. It was extremely rude of the manager to talk about having to pay rent and such, that is not my problem! You shouldn't have signed up for the Groupon program then. I am really appalled at how we were treated for how many times we've been in, and how much business we brought them just that night alone. After that point we discovered that one of the people at our table hadn't even gotten all of the food from his bento box. I am really disappointed and sad to say that we will not be going back to this restaurant. As good as the food is, I don't appreciate a manager trying to make me feel guilty for using a coupon that I paid for, and to sit there and complain at me when I've just brought you all of this business. My husband and I didn't even share a dinner box, we EACH got one so as to not be jerks in using the Groupon.

The service we received was horrible! After waiting an hour and a half for our food, the waitress said that they were busy and that our food would be out soon. After seven to ten "to go" customers walked in and out with their orders, we just couldn't wait any longer. We asked to speak with a manager, which the staff just laughed in our face and stated that there were no managers at the restaurant. So at this point we just wanted to get the heck out of there and asked if we could just take our order to go since it seemed as thats what the restaurant was tending to first. The waitress then had the nerve to say that our food wasn't even prepared yet! And we only ordered three rolls! Do not waste your time here...If you want sushi in the Great Neck area of VB I would recommend going to Fuji Yama instead of Volcano.

I love sushi, but my fiance doesn't. We can both enjoy a nice meal here. Service is polite and friendly.

This is absolutely, hands down, the best sushi place in the area. The staff is very friendly, and the sushi is always so fresh and delicious! My favorite rolls are the Luna Roll and Mr. Miyaki Roll. Sashimi is also always fresh. Their presentation is beautiful as well! They come out with everything from color changing lights, dry ice waterfalls, flowers, roses made out of tuna, you name it! I 200% recommend this place to friends.

I eat there at least a couple times a week. The food is always fresh and very good. The staff are so friendly and very attentive. It is the only sushi place in the area that I have eaten at and been happy. They always have new ideas and are willing to make something new if the customer asks. I highly recommend eating there.

I've eaten here several times and they had pretty good food. The last time I went to this restaurant, I ordered a sushi box with one or two different rolls and chicken teriyaki. The sushi was great (it always is), but the chicken teriyaki was served RAW. It was completely disgusted. Who serves raw chicken?! When we asked that it be sent back and replaced, the replacement we received was just as gross. I'm not sure that I will ever eat here again after this experience. BUYER BEWARE!
