Opinions are the cheapest commodity in the world. So here is mine. With absolutely no prior knowledge of Jafferson Computers, I took my PC in there for repair. The person waiting on me was “Mateen Jaffer” who I assume is the owner. To me he seemed very knowledgeable and sincerely interested in helping me to get it fixed. He did fix it and charge me a fair price. My suggestion to anyone trying to get their PC or laptop repaired. Before you do, accept the fact that computers have an operating system that is very fragile and contains literally millions of things that can malfunction and frustrate us to no end. When you purchase a computer, realize its life expectancy is 3 years. If you have no tolerance for the inherent risks that go along with repairing a computer more than 3 years old, then don’t do it, buy a new one.

I purchased several components for my macbook pro from Jefferson Computers, but chose to install them myself. The owner of the shop was very knowledgeable and polite. He offered me advice on how to do the fixes properly and provided tools so I could test the components right in the store. I really liked these guys and will definitely come back if I have other computer repair needs.

I took my pc in because I suspected it had a virus: would open numerous programs upon starting and run painfully sluggish. They told me a $35 deposit was necessary from all customers when having service done: which I gave when leaving the computer. I purchased a new computer the same day from a different dealer. When I went to get my machine from this store they plugged it in and it seemed to run fine. The charge was $130 plus they kept the $35 deposit as they said there was no verification that I left a deposit. Which I later found the receipt on a carbon duplicate receipt paper!. When I did plug the computer in it was NOT REPAIRED.I have the other computer which I use for full time online school when I am not busy working full time. So when I finally plugged the "repaired" computer in BANG its the same problem. What they did do is load malware anti malware, and of course their office contact information on the home screen and also some other malware all of which was completely useless which I could've and done for free before taking it in. I'd say this place is borderline scammers and would not feel comfortable recommending them to anyone I even remotely liked. I am very busy and need two computers but thanks to these scammers I only have one. DONT GO THERE. Please note anyone that gives this hack joint a good review is either the owners family or college buddy. They're hacks, scammers and con artists. Shop around and you will understand what I am saying. Please note: I do not have the time to deal with inept people or scammers. However, if this company contacts me and makes this issue right I will change this review.

Response from the owner - 2 years ago
We at Jafferson Computers have been providing quality service to our clients for a long time. We try our best to make all our customers satisfied with our service. In this case Mr. Coutoumanos brought in his computer with virus infection. We checked in for our level II virus removal of $125. He wanted to trade in his old computers for service. We generally do not buy old computers, but to keep our customers happy so we did trade in and he ended up paying only $36 out of pocket for the service of $125. We take all the complaints seriously and in this case also we offered to work with him to fix his computer.

These guys are really good! Although I have a good anti-virus program, my computer became terribly infected. I got the “dreaded blue screen” and Windows would not open. I took it in to Jafferson Computers and, amazingly, they were able to clean out all the viruses, etc., and saved my data! Since I still had Windows XP and learned it would soon be unsupported by Microsoft, they told me they could also install Windows 7 (an authorized version). It seemed like the logical thing to do. I previously had Office 2003 and used Outlook for my email default and calendar. With Windows 7 installed and Office re-installed, Outlook didn’t want to work correctly. They were able to get to the bottom of the problems and my computer is now running well – it’s almost like having a new computer! In addition, I had a couple of really old programs that wouldn’t install into Windows 7 the “normal” way, but with the expertise of the guys at Jafferson Computers, they were able to install them and they’re working great! I was so impressed and grateful! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jafferson Computers for whatever your computer problems may be.

I took My Totally Broken Laptop to Jafferson Computers.... Just to ask how to remove the hard drive so I can throw the laptop away- and they did what I call WONDERS!!! They advised me that my laptop can be fixed for under $200 - I thought they were Kidding but THEY DID IT!!! My LAPTOP looks Newer Than EVER Before- It didn't even look like this when I first bought it- it's working now at Lightning Speed and the Keyboard was changed along with the fixation of the Screen And I am really HAPPY!!! This was definately not What I was expecting! Thank You SO Much Jafferson Computers and Mr. Jaffer for Fixing My Laptop for me, Thanks Once Again! :-)

Needed a inexpensive replacement for my PSU while i waited for the RMA on my current. Well this isnt the spot low end corsair 500W and they asked 129.00$ almost triple of what you would pay anywhere else. Guys are trash and if you go in there they really have no idea wtf they are talking about. Would not recommend unless you like wasting money.
