Did you know that come January 2018 Tier ll facilities will be required to report revised physical and health hazards for all their hazardous chemicals above regulatory thresholds AND due to regulatory changes, the number of Tier II hazard classifications has gone from 5 to 24!? Even if you’ve been reporting the same chemical for years, you’ll need to pull out that nice, new Safety Data Sheet (SDS) you got to replace your old MSDS and update the hazards on the Tier II chemical report. Since some state reporting systems may experience slow-downs because of these changes, submitting earlier is better. Call STONE if you need any assistance and we would be happy to help navigate you through the process.

Recently the USACE implemented a Stream & Wetland Valuation Metric within Ohio. We anticipate a major change in the approach for stream and wetland mitigation for our clients, although details are still unclear. A new method for assessing stream quality for specific stream types in the Appalachia Plateau was also issued, which affects 34 counties in Ohio. See graphic below (red area represents the western and central portion of the Allegheny Plateau).

STONE recently relocated the State Endangered Viola primufolia (primrose-Leaved violet) from a proposed project site to a State Nature Preserve. This species can be difficult to tell apart from common species, especially when it is not in bloom! The relocation went smoothly and ODNR will monitor the anticipated success of the plant in its new home.
