Finally, something good to share about AAFCO! http://ow.ly/TPj5B
Feed Grade or Human Grade? It's easy to guess which you would rather feed your cat, but currently, there's no actual definition for "Human Grade" pet food!

When cats eat something they shouldn’t, the common advice is to induce vomiting, but there are some things that are actually worse coming back up than they were going down.

Find out what they are!

Cats and dogs can get into a lot of trouble! If they've eaten something they shouldn't, the common advice is to induce vomiting by giving them syrup of ipecac or hydrogen peroxide. (My favorite item recovered by this method was a baby sock that had been eaten by a cat!) ...

Here it is! The third and final installment of the "Problems with Pepcid and other antacids." Learn to treat nausea with healthy, natural supplements and alternatives.

After you read this, come back and tell us... have you used any of those methods to make your kitty feel better? What was your experience? http://ow.ly/Tz3VC
Using Pepcid and other antacids long term can be problematical, but there are healthy, natural supplements and other options for helping a nauseous kitty.

The one cardinal rule of sourcing menu products for fresh, home-made meals for your kitty? ALWAYS check to be sure the product isn't "Enhanced." These meats aren't healthy for people and can really do a number on a cat's sensitive digestive system - and they are far more common than you think! http://ow.ly/Tx9kI
Per the USDA, 30% of the poultry, 15% of the beef and 90% of the pork sold in the US contains an added solution with up to 5 times the natural amount of sodium.

Sometimes the best way to spend a Friday night is cuddling on the couch with your BFF.

However you spend it, have a wonderful night!

Feline nutrition, general health, and behavior: Better lives through better care!
Introduction
This is the official Google+ page of www.CatCentric.org.

Our goal is to keep cats in their homes longer by educating cat parents about their unique nutritional and behavioral aspects. We answer questions about diet choices, food-related diseases (IBD), litter box avoidance, biting and much more!

MISSION

Cats are complex, fascinating creatures with unique and often misunderstood behavior patterns and physiological needs. CatCentric’s mission is to promote awareness of these needs and to be a leading resource for anyone seeking a better understanding of feline care, with a special focus on their nutritional and behavioral requirements.

Through written material, seminars, consultations and partnering with other organizations, CatCentric is dedicated to educating the public on the benefits, techniques, and issues associated with feeding cats a raw, prey-based, species-appropriate diet.

CatCentric’s education and awareness campaigns also focus on promoting an understanding of feline behavior and motivations. Our goal is to improve overall feline care, reduce conflicts, and strengthen the feline / owner bond.

You can participate in more interactive and in-depth discussions on feline nutrition, general care and behavior by joining our FB Group: www.facebook.com/groups/CatCentric!
