Celebrated interior designer Thomas Schoos created the simultaneously sleek yet rustic setting, with three distinctly different spaces throughout the restaurant. Outside on Wilshire’s split-level patio, guests can dine within a beautiful sculptural landscape or enjoy a drink at the intimate outdoor bar, all within an environment that offers sanctuary from the bustling, surrounding metropolis. Inside the lounge area, the ambiance harkens a feeling of Ibiza and features  leather couches, and cozy bar. The interior dining room retains its own personality and features dark wood tables, and semi-circular leather banquettes.

Hol’ up! Are you telling me this elegant and sophisticated restaurant has Happy Hour Monday-Thursday 5pm-close??? I mean cmon this can’t be true. Well ladies and gents it’s certainly true and it’s certainly a really good deal. They have draft beets for 4 bucks, wines for 6 , specialty drinks for 8 and an assortment of nibbles ranging for 7 -9 bucks. The ambiance is great. Dimly lit but very vibrant. I came here for a networking event and although the area was small for us to move around and mingle, the atmosphere was very nice. Also we only had one bartender for our section so getting drinks was a hassle. Other than that this place is gorgeous. Really worth a visit! There is street parking around Wilshire and down some of the side roads. Make sure and pay attention to the signs because the neighborhood parking is for residents only.

Great ambiance, fire pit in the rear and just a few people in the bar and dining area. Like having the place for VIP with very attentive staff. After getting drinks at the var Wilshire Russian...made fabulously and a wonderful Malbec, We enjoyed some blues mixed w\ms Ella, Louis, Robert Cray and some old time classics, it was a great way to begin the evening. From there, we chose to sit in the patio area which making proved to be quite romantic for my beautiful wife/date for the evening. Petro arrived and made excellent recommendations that prove very beneficial. The short ribs, the pork chop, even the pairing chutney were prepared excellently and seasoned beyond expectation. We concluded w/flourless chocolate cake, handmade chocolate & vanilla ice cream, 2 cappuccino with perfect foam. The evening ended with both off thanking the staff for this a great "date night" experience which becomes a mainstay on our go-to list for great meals, great company and any total number of positive experiences in the town of Santa Monica on a Friday night.

A small group of us came here on a whim for dinner on a weeknight. We were sat at a table in the back outdoor area. It was nice as the weather was warm. To start I had the Hamachi appetizer. The fish was delicate and the cucumber salad that it came with was light and refreshing. For main I had the pork chop. This was executed perfectly. The pork was cooked to perfection and so moist. I love the ambiance of this restaurant. It's dimly lit with a romantic feel. I can also see this restaurant being great for birthdays as well. There are a few longer tables in the back that is perfect for big groups.

Attended a dinner here recently put on by my office with a fixed menu. Couldnt have been a nicer experience. The filet and hamachi were delicious, and the staff was very attentive. We sat outside on the heated and well lit back patio, which was a beautiful space. Overall a great evening and would definitely return for a special occasion.

Chef Max DiMare hits one out of the park as in “GRAND SLAM” with his new innovative exciting and interesting new offerings at the beautiful Wilshire Restaurant. DiMare presents food combinations that are nothing short of brilliant. There are so many choices that are unique and creative including the bourbon laced liver with touches of mustard and relish on the side that have never been experienced until now. Shrimp with Spanish chorizo in a shrimp broth is an amazing succulent dish. Salads are aplenty and are inspired by freshness in the arugula, beet and ham and egg, avocado salads. Steak eaters will rejoice in the flavors and softness (some will say tenderness) of the steak while fish eaters will be very happy with the presentations of the salmon entre and smoked cod toast appetizer. The caramelized celery root and pear soup is like nothing ever tasted before and extraordinarily superb on the pallet. Desserts are great too ranging from flawless chocolate flourless cake to butterscotch pot de crème. All in all Max DiMare at Wilshire Restaurant is a gem to the Los Angeles restaurant scene with his wonderful touches of excellence in dining.

This is a great place! The outdoor patio, the ambiance, and the food were amazing. I went here when I was on vacation up in LA (from San Diego) visiting my sister. She said she found it due to the chef being on that show top chef. She took us here and we were utterly impressed. Pretty expensive, however worth every penny!

Wilshire hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
